Southern Connecticut Men, Assumption Women Tabbed to Take Home Hardware at This Weekend's NE10 Swimming & Diving Championships

Owls and Hounds Narrowly Take Top Spots in NE10 Coaches' Poll

MANSFIELD, Mass. - The Assumption women's team and the Southern Connecticut men's team have been tabbed by the league's head coaches to win the upcoming Northeast-10 Conference Swimming and Diving Championships, which begin tomorrow and run through Sunday evening.

This year's championships will be hosted by Assumption, and will be held at the WPI Sports and Recreation Cetner on the campus of Worcester Polytechnic Institute. For a full schedule of this weekend's events, see the link above.

On the Men's side, Southern Connecticut received one more point than defending champion Bentley. The Owls received four first place votes, one more than the Falcons. Le Moyne was tabbed to finish third, narrowly ahead of Pace.

On the Women's side, Assumption narrowly outgained Southern Connecticut. The Greyhounds received 76 total points from the league's head coaches, three more than Southern Connecticut received. The Owls narrowly edged the Hounds to take last year's title on the women's side. Bentley finished third, three points behind Southern Connecticut. Assumption (5), Southern Connecticut (3), and Bentley (2) gardnered all ten of the first place selections.
