SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – American International won its first Northeast-10 men's outdoor title in program history, while Stonehill claimed its second outdoor title in the last three years on Saturday at the 2016 NE-10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships on the campus of American International College.

Both the Yellow Jacket men and Skyhawk women won titles at the NE-10 Indoor Track & Field Championships back in February as well to complete the season sweep in addition to cross country titles in the fall.

Four more NE-10 Championship records fell on the final day to bring the overall total to six over the two-day event. Further more, numerous student-athletes provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships.

American International picked up seven more men's victories on Saturday after winning twice on the first day. Freshman Chad Miller, who was named NE-10 Men's Most Outstanding Track Performer, won both the 400-meter dash and 400-meter hurdles with NCAA provisional qualifying times. Fellow freshman Leakey Kipkosgei claimed a 3,000-meter steeplechase victory, Jeremy Antivo picked up his second win of the meet (1,500 & 5,000) and Daquan Holmes won the 100-meter dash. The Yellow Jackets also swept the men's relay races, taking the 4x100- and 4x400-meter relay races Saturday after winning the 4x800 on Friday.

Stonehill's women's team earned three wins on Saturday after compiling three victories on Friday as well. Nicole Borofski set a new NE-10 Championship record in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:55.98 just one day after setting a new conference meet mark in the 1,500-meter race, provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Championships in both. The Skyhawks also received individual victories by Trisha Pierson in the discus and Aisha McAdams in the 800-meter run.

Merrimack's Carly Muscaro broke two conference records on Saturday, winning the 400-meter dash in 52.09 and the 200-meter dash in 23.41. She automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships in both events and was named NE-10 Women's Most Outstanding Track Performer for her efforts. Meanwhile, Franklin Pierce's Andre Wooten was the other NE-10 student-athlete to set a new meet record, winning the men's triple jump with an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 15.28 meters.

Southern Connecticut's Tresley Dupont was named the NE-10 Men's Most Outstanding Field Performer after winning two events for the Owls over the two days. He won the shot put on Saturday after taking the hammer throw on Friday, provisionally qualifying for NCAAs in both events. Merrimack's Sarah Barnett claimed the Women's Most Outstanding Field Performer after winning the heptathlon and finishing strong in a number of field events.

AIC won with 200 points, while Stonehill earned its crown with 168. Defending champion Southern Connecticut finished second in both the men's and women's standings. The Owls had previously won all 13 men's conference titles dating back to 2002. Stonehill, Franklin Pierce and Merrimack rounded out the men's top five teams, while Merrimack, New Haven and Adelphi made up the women's top five.
