Embrace The Championship: 28 NE10 Student-Athletes to Compete at NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

MANSFIELD, Mass. -  28 student-athletes representing 11 different Northeast-10 Conference Men's and Women's Track and Field programs have qualified to compete in the upcoming NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. This year's championships will take place March 9-10 in Pittsburg, Kansas at the Robert W. Plaster Center. 

The complete list of NE10 qualifiers and the event(s) each will be competing in is listed below. 

The American International Men's team led the way with six student-athletes qualifying, including Leakey Kipkosgei pictured above. Kipkosgei led all NE10 student-athletes as he qualified and will compete in three different events: the 800 meter run, the 3000 meter run, and as part of the Yellow Jackets' distance medley relay team.

AIC's Dana Bramble and Jessikha Ribeiro, as well as Merrimack's Michaela Pernell will be competing in multiple events at this year's NCAA Championships.

A couple of NE10 student-athletes are among the national leaders in their repsective events heading into the Championships. Southern Connecticut's Destiney Coward is the top seed in weight throw as her toss of 21.29 meters is the best in the nation so far this season. AIC's Ackeen Colley posted the second-fastest time in the 800 meter run (1:48.78) as well.
