13 NE10 Student-Athletes Earn USTFCCCA All-American Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Following a number of impressive performances at the 2021 NCAA Division II Track & Field Championships, all 13 NE10 student-athletes who competed at the NCAA Championships earned All-America honors. 

Southern Connecticut led all NE10 schools with seven All-Americans, highlighted by Nigel Green who earned First-Team All-America honors in 100 meter dash and the 4x400 meter relay. He finished in 10.37 seconds and took second overall in the nation while the relay placed sixth in 3:10.17. Sachin Manning, Christ N'Dabian and Milan Spisek also secure All-America honors in the relay.

In field events, Oghenefejiro Onakpoma placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 15.68 meters while Turner Kelly was third in the shot put with a throw of 18.55 meters. Jordan Davis rounded out the All-America honors for SCSU with a ninth place finish in the javelin (63.11). 

American International had five student-athletes secure All-America honors, highlighted by 10,000 meters national champion Ezra Mutai. He claimed the title by just 0.22 seconds and it is fifth NCAA Championship for AIC. Leakey Kiposgei placed fourth in the steeplechase with a time of 9:03.97 while Benoit Campion took seventh in the 1500 meters (3:53.75) and Clement Paillon placed eighth in the 800 meters (1:51.15). Roxan Foster rounded out the group by taking sixth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 13.81 seconds. 

The final All-America honor came from Adelphi's Evangelos Fradelakis in the hammer. His throw of 63.26 meters was good enough for ninth.
