Bentley Selected as Favorite in NE10 Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Poll

Women's Basketball Poll - 2022-23

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Falcons are Defending NE10 Champions.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Coming off a Northeast-10 Conference championship in 2022, Bentley has been voted first in the NE10 Women's Basketball Coaches' Poll, as announced by the conference office on Friday afternoon.

For the first time since the 2012-13 season, the NE10 women's basketball standings will not be broken into two divisions (Northeast and Southwest), but instead feature all 13 programs competing for one regular season championship. The Falcons earned the top spot in the poll with 139 points and nine first-place votes.

Southern Connecticut earned 112 points and a pair of first-place tallies to take second in the Coaches' Poll, while Le Moyne came in third with 106 points. Pace (105 points) and Southern New Hampshire (102 points) each received one first-place vote to earn fourth and fifth place, respectively.

The NE10 Women's Basketball Coaches' Poll is voted on by all 13 head coaches throughout the conference.

As the second seed in the Northeast Division, Bentley won the 2022 NE10 Championship under head coach C White in the team's first season of competition since White took the helm during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the 21st NE10 title in program history for the Falcons. Bentley is led by returning All-Conference honorees Kari Brekke and Ella Thompson.

Southern Connecticut made noise in the 2022 NE10 Championship, ousting top-seeded Southern New Hampshire in the quarterfinal round to advance to the semifinals for the first time since the 2017-18 season. Le Moyne qualified for its third-straight NCAA East Regional in 2022 (including the 2019-20 season when it wasn't played due to COVID-19).

The NE10 women's basketball season opens on Friday, November 11. For the full schedule, please click HERE. All home and conference basketball games this season will be streamed for free on NE10 NOW – the Conference's digital streaming platform.
