Golden Knights Look for Eighth Title; Owls Playing for Their First.
MANSFIELD, Mass. - Seventh-seeded Southern Connecticut won its second-consecutive road game in the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Soccer Championship, advancing to its first title game since 2000 with a 1-0 victory over sixth-seeded American International in the semifinals on Thursday evening. Top-seeded Saint Rose awaits the challenge, after a 3-2 victory over fourth-seeded Bentley. The Golden Knights will host the Owls on Sunday at 1 p.m. with an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament at stake.
Sunday's game will be broadcast live on NE10 NOW when the Golden Knights and Owls meet. SCSU will be playing for its first league title in program history, while Saint Rose looks to add an eighth trophy - and its first since 2014.

ALBANY, N.Y. - Saint Rose won its NE10 semifinal matchup on Thursday evening against Bentley by a 3-2 margin at the Plumeri Sports Complex, as Nina Predanic tallied a goal and assist to lead the way for the Golden Knights. With a 2-1 lead, Predanic scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 74th minute to put the game out of reach for the Falcons.
With the victory, Saint Rose earns the right to host the NE10 Championship on Sunday as the top seed. Eva Frazzoni (1') and Theresa Durle (57') added goals in the win on Thursday, while Bentley received scoring from Marissa Burns (26') and Dana Goulet (78'). Both goalies - Saint Rose's Marika Laurendeau and Bentley's Kat Hassapis - each had three saves in the game.
Saint Rose will host Southern Connecticut on Sunday at 1 p.m. for the NE10 title.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The No. 7 Southern Connecticut State women's soccer team defeated No. 6 American International, 1-0, in a Northeast-10 Conference Championship semfinal matchup in Springfield, Mass. Southern advances to the NE10 Championship Game for the second time in program history.
Paula Nunez scored late in the first half off an assist from Kaitly D'Amico. Allie Smith stopped all five of AIC's shots-on-goal for her ninth shutout of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- With just under 14 minutes to play in the first half, Allie Smith sent a booming kick from the box to midfield where Johanna Wahlen was able to take control. Wahlen stepped around a defender and fed Kaitlyn D'Amico on the right flank. D'Amico walked around her defender, carried the ball to the middle of the field and a sent a pass to the opposite wing for Paula Nunez. Nunez blew past a Yellow Jackets defender and then blasted a shot past AIC's keeper to put the Owls in front, 1-0.
