NE10 Player of the Week
Madison Blonde, New Haven
Senior | Forward | Rockland, Mass.
Blonde closed out a three-goal, seven point week with a pair of game-winning goals as the Chargers finished 2-0 with home conference wins over Pace and Saint Anselm. The sophomore striker opened up the week with both goals in a 2-1 win over Pace, scoring the equalizer and the game winner which came with under three minutes remaining. She again struck with the game-winner against Saint Anselm when she connected with rookie Caitlin Toom with just over15 minutes to play. Blonde also recorded an assist against the Hawks, aiding Vickie Fleming in the first of two goals for her in the conference battle. For the season, Blonde leads the team with four goals and an assist for nine points.
NE10 Defensive Player of the Week
Aino Martikainen, Franklin Pierce
Junior | Back | Järvenpää, Finland
Martikainen led a defensive unit which did not allow a goal in a 2-0-0 week. The back line allowed just four shots on goal over the course of the week: three in a 1-0 win at home over No. 8 SNHU on Wednesday and one in a 1-0 win at home over SCSU on Saturday. Martikainen attempted one shot on the week as well.
NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week
Olivia Sousa, American International
Senior | Goalkeeper | Norton, Mass.
Sousa was once again strong for AIC in two starts. She stopped three shots against Bentley, then saved all four at Assumption in a 0-0 tie; that shutout was her fifth of the season.
NE10 Rookie of the Week
Madison Apicella, Adelphi
Freshman | Midfield | Holbrook, N.Y.
With her team trailing in the final minutes at Southern Connecticut in a battle of the league's two leading teams at that time, Apicella pivoted from 20 yards out to unleash the shot that leveled the game with 5:01 to go, and forced a 1-1 draw. She also sent in a cross that led to the game's opening goal Saturday in a 2-1 win over No. 8 ranked Southern New Hampshire. Apicella finished the 1-0-1 week with three points (one goal, one assist).
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Victoria Colatosti, Adelphi (Gr, F - Northport, N.Y.)
Turned on the jets to make the long run for a first-half goal that was the deciding tally in a 2-1 upset of No. 8 ranked Southern New Hampshire on Saturday. It was Colatosti's league-high-tying fifth goal of the 2022 campaign.
Katherine Laboissonniere, Assumption (So, D - Smithfield, R.I.)
Laboissonniere anchored the Greyhounds' backline that limited the Yellow Jackets to just one shot on goal in a 0-0 tie on Saturday.
Gabby Calidonio, Franklin Pierce (So., GK - Flagler Beach, Fla.)
Stopped all three shots on her goal and picked up both wins in a 2-0-0 week for the Ravens. Was a part of two shutouts. On Wednesday night, made two saves in the second half to finish off a 1-0 home win over No. 8 SNHU. On Saturday afternoon, made one save in the first half of a 1-0 home win over SCSU.
Jasmine Perez-Acosta, Franklin Pierce (So., M/F - Cape Coral, Fla.)
Scored both of her teams goals, both game-winners, as the Ravens went 2-0-0 with a pair of 1-0 wins at home. Struck in the 69th minute of Wednesday night's win over No. 8 SNHU. Scored on a penalty kick in the 26th minute in Saturday's victory over SCSU. In all, Perez-Acosta attempted five shots on the week, including three on goal.
Josie Pecor, Saint Anselm (So., F - Williston, Vt.)
Pecor netted a pair of goals in a 1-1-0 week for the regionally-ranked Hawks. Pecor opened the scoring in the Saint Anselm win over Saint Michael's before knotting the match at one in the first half at New Haven.
Pia Bozic, Saint Rose (So., GK - Kamnik, Slovenia)
Bozic allowed only one goal and made three saves throughout 149:14 of action that spanned two matches. In the process, she took over the league lead with a 0.51 goals-against-average and a 0.862 save percentage.
Janina Mueller, Saint Rose (Gr., M - Sinsheim, Germany)
Mueller had a goal in each game throughout a 2-0 week for the Golden Knights, who extended their season-long unbeaten streak to nine games in the process.
Abigail Allen, Southern Conn. St. (Sr., GK - Orange, Conn.)
In a 1-1 week, Allen made six saves in a 1-1 tie against Saint Rose before following with a five-save performance against Franklin Pierce. Against Saint Rose, Allen ran her scoreless minutes streak to 457:46 before Adelphi scored with 5:01 to play.
