MANSFIELD, Mass. – Stonehill has been chosen to win the 2017 Northeast-10 Conference Women's Tennis Championship, as the NE10 Coaches' Poll was released by the conference office today. The Skyhawks led the way, having received 138 total points in the voting, including seven first place selections.

For complete results of the poll, which is voted upon by the league's head coaches, please see below.

The Skyhawks fell to Adelphi 5-4 in last year's NE10 title match, but return a number of key cogs to their talented lineup, including Victoria Barbetta (pictured above). The defending champion Panthers (123 points) from Adelphi narrowly edged out Southern New Hampshire (121 points) for second place in the preseason rankings. Both Adelphi and SNHU received three first place votes. Rounding out the top five were Assumption (109) and Merrimack (95).

The new season begins on Friday, September 1. The 2017 NE10 Women's Tennis Championship will begin with First Round matches on Wednesday, October 25, with the Semifinals set for Friday, Oct. 27. This fall's NE10 title match will take place on Sunday, Oct. 29.
