Stonehill Earns Top Seed for Upcoming NE10 Women's Tennis Championship

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Stonehill Skyhawks have been rewarded with the top seed in the upcoming Northeast-10 Conference Women's Tennis Championship after winning the league's regular season crown on Saturday, as the conference office announced its championship seedings today.

For seedings and matchups for the 2017 NE10 Women's Tennis Championship, please see below.

Stonehill garnered the top seed and a first-round bye after going 12-0 in conference play this fall. The Skyhawks, who fell in last year's title match to Adelphi, ran the table in the regular season with 12 straight victories.

The aforementioned defending-champion Panthers claimed the No. 2 seed and the other first-round bye after finishing at 11-1 in NE10 play. Adelphi's only loss in conference regular season play was a 6-3 setback to Stonehill in September.

Southern New Hampshire earned the third seed, while Assumption will be the fourth seed in this year's championship which begins with First Round action on Wednesday afternoon. The Penmen and the Greyhounds finished with identical 9-3 marks in conference play, but So. New Hampshire's win over Assumption garners them the #3 seed.  Both programs will host First Round matches on Wednesday.

Le Moyne (8-4) and Merrimack (7-5) earned the fifth and sixth seeds respectively.

The semifinals will take place on Friday while this year's Championship Final will be hosted by the highest remaining seed on Sunday, October 29.
