Saint Michael's Hires Tom Twitchell as Women's Tennis Head Coach

Purple Knights Add Twitchell to Staff.


COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's Associate Director of Athletics Tacy Lincoln announced the hire of Tom Twitchell as women's tennis head coach on Thursday. Twitchell is also a local high school coach and instructor.

"Tom's extensive involvement with tennis as well as his passion for teaching the game will be a tremendous asset to the Saint Michael's program," said Lincoln. "We are excited for the season to begin and look forward to all that is ahead with Coach Twitchell at the helm."

Twitchell most recently has been the varsity boys' tennis head coach at Rice Memorial High School since 2018 while also serving as a tennis pro, private instructor and clinician at The EDGE Sports & Fitness in South Burlington. He is certified through the Professional Tennis Registry, having primarily tutored youth players. A member of the United States Racquet Stringers Association (USRSA), the long-time racquet technician owns Drop The Racquet, which specializes in stringing tennis, squash and racquetball racquets.

Twitchell earned his associate's degree in graphic design and multimedia from Champlain College.
