Adelphi and SNHU Upset in Semifinals; Stonehill to Host Le Moyne for NE10 Title.


MANSFIELD, Mass. - Friday's semifinals of the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Tennis Championship were filled with upsets, as fourth-seeded Le Moyne took down top-seeded Adelphi in 4-3 fashion - while third-seeded Stonehill took down second-seeded Southern New Hampshire, 4-1. As a result, Sunday's final will be between Stonehill and Le Moyne, with the Skyhawks hosting at the Weymouth Club (Weymouth, Mass.) with a scheduled start of 10 a.m. 

Originally scheduled to be outdoors at 1 p.m., the time changed for the NE10 Championship due to rain on the forecast for Sunday. The Weymouth Club provides indoor courts for both teams.

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – The Le Moyne women's tennis team earned its first berth in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship final with a 4-3 victory over top-seeded Adelphi University in the NE10 semifinals on Friday afternoon at the Adelphi Tennis Courts.

The Dolphins (13-3), who were appearing in the semifinals for the third consecutive year, will face third-seeded Stonehill College in the NE10 Championship match on Sunday at The Weymouth Club in Weymouth, Mass. at 10:00 a.m. The Skyhawks advanced to the final for the sixth straight season and the 13th time overall with a 4-1 win at second-seeded Southern New Hampshire University in today's other semifinal.

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Third-seeded Stonehill, ranked No. 4 in the most recent Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II poll, avenged its lone Conference loss of the season with a commanding 4-1 triumph over second-seeded Southern New Hampshire in semifinal round action of the 2019 Northeast-10 Conference Women's Tennis Tournament at Penmen Stadium Tennis Courts this afternoon.

Stonehill (11-3, 9-1 NE10) advances to the NE10 Championship match for the sixth-straight season and 13th time in program history overall, where it will host fourth-seeded Le Moyne College (13-3, 7-3 NE10) at The Weymouth Club on Sunday at 10 a.m. The Dolphins, ranked tenth in the region, reached their first final in program history with a 4-3 upset of top-seeded Adelphi University (9-4, 9-1 NE10), ranked ninth in the region, in today's other semifinal on Long Island. Southern New Hampshire wraps up its fall season with an 11-2 record overall, including 9-1 in the NE10 to clinch a share of the Conference's regular season title with Stonehill and Adelphi.
