NCAA Cross Country National Championship Selections Announced

Four Teams and Three Individuals Qualify for NCAA Championships


MANSFIELD, Mass. – The NCAA released its official selections for the 2019 Division II Cross Country National Championships and the Northeast-10 was well represented with four teams and three individuals qualifying for the NCAA Championships on Nov. 23. 

The Stonehill women's team won the NCAA East Regional this past weekend to qualify, their 16th Regional Title and the program's 20th consecutive appearance in the National Championships. Southern New Hampshire took third over the weekend and will be making the program's first appearance at the NCAA National Championships. AIC's Katie Olding qualified as an individual after placing ninth overall in the East Region Championship. 

On the men's side, AIC placed second at the NCAA East Regional to qualify as a team, while Stonehill took third to reach its 17th consecutive NCAA National Championship. Ezra Mutai is the seventh consecutive Yellow Jacket to win the Regional, leading his team to the second place finish. Southern New Hampshire's Micah Hewitson placed fifth and Le Moyne's Chris Davitt took tenth as both qualified as individuals. 

This year the championships will be held Nov. 23 in Sacramento, California, at Arcade Creek Cross Country Course (at Haggin Oaks). California State University, Sacramento and the Sacramento Sports Commission will serve as hosts. The women's race will begin at 1 p.m. Eastern, followed by the men's race at 2:15 p.m. Eastern.
