Elad Inbar, a former men’s basketball standout at UMass Lowell in the early 2000s, has been named an Outstanding Individual as part of the Northeast-10 Conference’s 40th anniversary celebration. Inbar was chosen as the 2004 NCAA Division II Player of the Year and ranks ninth on the NE10’s all-time scoring list (2,099).

Inbar, an NE10 and UMass Lowell Hall of Famer, played with the River Hawks from 2000-04 and led the program to a 100-27 record (.787) during his four-year tenure. During that time, Inbar helped UMass Lowell to a pair of NE10 regular season and tournament championships in his final two seasons.

The River Hawks took four straight trips to the NCAA Tournament, capturing the 2003 and 2004 NCAA Northeast Regional championships and advancing to the Elite Eight in consecutive seasons.

A native of Kiryat Haim, Israel, Inbar finished his career as the leading scorer in UMass Lowell history, a record that he still holds today. He also ranks second in the program in career free throws made (455) and tied for first in games played (127). He was a two-time All-American and three-time NE10 All-Conference First Team selection.

In 2004, Inbar was selected NE10 Player of the Year, on his way to becoming the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) DII Player of the Year in the same season. He became the first NE10 player to ever earn the nation’s top honor.

UMass Lowell finished in the top three in the NE10 standings each year between 2000-04, accumulating a 68-20 (.773) record in conference play – boasting at least 16 league victories in all four seasons with Inbar on the roster.
