MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference released its 2015-16 Team Academic Excellence Award winners on Wednesday, honoring the programs with the highest team GPA in each of the conference’s 24 sports throughout the academic year.

It was a record year for the NE-10 with 75 percent of the league’s 292 teams achieving a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. That was the highest percentage in conference history since the team awards were first given out in 2010, and it is an increase in two percent from a year ago. Additionally, 36 percent of NE-10 teams posted a GPA of 3.3 or higher (11% increase from 2014-15), while eight percent boasted team GPAs of 3.5 or higher.

Adelphi and Bentley had the most Team Academic Excellence Award winners with six apiece. Eight different league members had at least one winner. Le Moyne had four teams pick up accolades, while Merrimack had three and Southern New Hampshire had two. American International, New Haven and Pace each had one award winner.

Both Adelphi and Bentley were also the only two schools to have all of their NE-10 teams earn a 3.0 GPA or higher, as all 22 of their respective athletic programs accomplished the feat. Adelphi had the most teams with a 3.5 GPA or higher as well with eight.
