NE10 Ties League Record with 62% of Student-Athletes Named to Academic Honor Roll

3,694 Student-Athletes Earn Academic Honor Roll Status in 2019 Fall Semester.


MANSFIELD, Mass. – On Friday afternoon, the Northeast-10 Conference announced that 3,694 of its nearly 6,000 student-athletes have been named to the Academic Honor Roll for the fall semester of 2019 – accounting for 62-percent of the entire student-athlete body.

The Academic Honor Roll acknowledges the commitment of NE10 student-athletes to excel in the classroom with three designations – Academic Excellence (4.0 GPA), Academic Distinction (3.50-3.99 GPA) and Academic Honors (3.00-3.49 GPA).

Among the student-athletes that were recognized, an impressive 269 of them earned Academic Excellence accolades – recording a perfect 4.0 GPA in the fall. Adelphi had a league-best 30 student-athletes earn a 4.0, while Franklin Pierce had 28 and Pace had 26.

"Our student-athletes are achieving academic success at extremely high levels and I am so proud of their accomplishments," said Julie Ruppert, NE10 Commissioner. "The commitment to academic excellence from our member institutions is unmatched in the country and these numbers prove it."

The NE10 had 12 of its 14 full-member institutions finish with at least 50-percent of their total student-athlete population claim AHR status. Bentley had the highest total number of student-athletes with 381, while Assumption was second with 353.

Adelphi had 80-percent (301 out of 376) of its overall student-athlete population named to the AHR – the top rate of any school in the league – while Pace was second (75%) and Bentley came in third (71%).

Baseball led all sports in representation with 329 student-athletes earning AHR status, with women's soccer (324) and football (314) close behind. The league had 10 sports produce more than 200 student-athletes with a minimum 3.0 GPA for the fall semester.
