NE10 Partner's with Ivy Watts to Produce Free Course for Mental Health Support
MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference is excited to announce its partnership with Mental Health Empowerment Speaker Ivy Watts, a former New Haven student-athlete, to provide NE10 student-athletes with a free online course to provide mental health support and training.
The course, titled "Mental Health Support For Athletes & Students During COVID-19 And Beyond", is designed to help student-athletes cope with the loss of their sport or another activity as well as provide them with tools and tips to practice mental wellness, self-care, and self-love during this tough time. This course will be available for no cost to NE10 student-athletes and can be accessed by contacting their school's SAAC advisor or head coach for the promotional code. It is a self-directed course which can be completed at each person's own pace. The developer of this course, Ivy Watts, is mental health first aid certified and has degrees in public health and psychology. Watts was the 2015 NE10 Woman of the Year and an All-American as a track & field student-athlete at New Haven.
