McCabe Will Begin His Four-Year Term In January.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Division II Presidents Council approved the election of three new members and a new chair to the Division II Management Council last week, which included Adelphi's Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Danny McCabe. He will begin his four-year term following the 2021 NCAA Convention (Jan. 12-15).
"We are fortunate that Danny will lend his leadership strength to the Council as Division II continues to navigate through these uncertain times," said Julie Ruppert, Commissioner of the Northeast-10 Conference.
The Management Council reports directly to the Presidents Council and is charged with recommending administrative policy and regulations that govern the division. The Management Council reviews and acts on recommendations from the Division II committee structure and from Division II representatives to committees with Association-wide functions. The Council also is responsible for appointing Division II representatives to those committees.
"I'm honored to join the DII Management Council and be a part of the leadership structure of the NCAA," commented McCabe. "It is a critical time in college athletics and I'm excited to serve our membership and student-athletes."
The current appointee from the NE10 is Jessica Chapin, the Interim Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) at American International College. Chapin has served on the council since 2017.
