Rachel Woo

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Woo is a Former FIFA and NISOA National Referee.

MANSFIELD, Mass. - Following an intense search, the Northeast-10 Conference has hired Rachel Woo - a highly-regarded official in her own right, both domestic and abroad - to become its next Coordinator of Soccer Officials. She will handle the assignments for both men's and women's games around the league.

"We are thrilled to welcome an individual of Rachel's caliber to the role of Coordinator of Soccer officials," said NE10 Commissioner Julie Ruppert. "Years ago, Rachel began her highly successful officiating career on the soccer fields in the NE10. She possesses the utmost respect for the high level of men's and women's soccer in the Conference, home of three Division II championships in soccer since 2007. We have no doubt that in Rachel, we have identified an individual whose dedication to the integrity of the game is always at the forefront. She has committed to raising the level of soccer officiating in the NE10 and cares deeply about identifying, teaching and developing soccer officials. In short, we are excited that this new relationship is a win for NE10 soccer."

"I am honored and humbled to be selected the Northeast-10 Coordinator of Soccer Officials," said Woo. "I thank Commissioner Julie Ruppert and her advisory committee for this opportunity. I started my officiating career in the NE10 and I have tremendous respect for the league, coaches and student-athletes. I look forward to building on the success of NE10 soccer and the soccer officiating program."

Woo joins the NE10 with a strong and successful background as a top-level soccer official. She began her referee career in 1994, which included officiating NE10 contests, and is a former FIFA and NISOA National referee. Over the course of her career, she has worked 18 NCAA Final Fours and the 2003 FIFA World Cup. Rachel adds responsibilities for NE10 soccer to her current roles as coordinator of officials for the SEC, Sun Belt and Patriot League (women).

In additional to her coordinator roles, she serves as an NCAA Soccer Regional Referee advisor with responsibilities for assigning NCAA championship matches in New England and New York and the management of officials at NCAA events including Final Fours and Regional Clinics. She has been involved in the development of technical materials for training of NCAA soccer officials. Woo also currently serves US Soccer as a New England National Assignor, National Referee Coach and as a member of their Referee Committee.

She will work closely with John Collins, a former National referee for US Soccer and NISOA and the coordinator of officials for the ECC and the CACC in the DII East region as well as Gus St. Silva, a former MLS referee and NISOA National Referee.
