NE10 Honors 113 Spring Student-Athletes on Academic All-Conference Teams

MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference announced its Academic All-Conference teams for the 2021 spring season on Tuesday afternoon, honoring 113 student-athletes from its 10 sponsored sports for their outstanding achievements in the classroom and on the field, court, track or course.

To be eligible for selection to NE10 Academic All-Conference teams, a student-athlete must have met or exceeded the following minimum requirements:

  • Started in at least half or played in at least two-thirds of the team's competitions as a significant contributor.
  • Achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) or better on a 4.0 scale.

Each NE10 institution has at least one representative on the Academic All-Conference teams from this past spring, which marked the league's formal return to competition during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Conference provided revised schedules and conducted 10 spring championships – three more than usual with the additions of men's golf, women's golf and women's tennis.

Four student-athletes – Adelphi's Alison Johnson, Bentley's Tommy Ethier and Ellis Yoder, and Southern New Hampshire's Joshua Goldstein – were named Academic All-Conference for the third time in their collegiate careers. There were 10 other student-athletes who earned their second career nod to the Academic All-Conference Team.

Adelphi had a league-best 19 selections across all sports, while Franklin Pierce (14), Le Moyne (12) and Bentley (10) also had a double-digit total of student-athletes recognized for their excellent work. Women's lacrosse had a league-high 25 players on its Academic All-Conference Team, while softball was second with 17 honorees.

Additionally, five NE10 Player/Athlete of the Year award winners earned recognition – including Adelphi's Gabrielle Buissereth (women's track & field), Bentley's Ethier (men's golf), Le Moyne's Jared Howard (men's tennis), Southern Connecticut's Anthony Zambito (baseball) and Southern New Hampshire's Magdalena Hubickova (women's tennis).
