FOOTBALL

Franklin Pierce at Pace: Oct. 16 – 1:00 p.m. (Live StatsVideo)

Franklin Pierce will look to win its first-ever NE10 contest on Saturday when it travels to play Pace on Saturday afternoon at Pace Stadium. The Ravens (0-5, 0-3 NE10) are led by junior running back EJ Burgess, who ranks third in the league in rushing yards per game (115.3), while the Setters (0-5, 0-3 NE10) are led by senior wide receiver Ramir Tann-Davis with 68.4 receiving yards per game and four touchdown receptions on the season.

In only its second season as a Division II program, Franklin Pierce has lost its first 11 games against NE10 opponents, but has recently closed the gap – including a narrow 35-28 overtime loss to Assumption on Oct. 2. Pace, meanwhile, looks to grab its first conference win of the season, as the Setters come off a 26-0 loss to No. 18 Bentley this past weekend.

Saint Anselm at Stonehill: Oct. 16 – 1:00 p.m. (Live StatsVideo)

Coming off an impressive road win at American International, Stonehill prepares to host Saint Anselm in the Battle for the Ol' Bronze Hawk on Saturday afternoon at W.B. Mason Stadium. The Skyhawks (4-1, 2-1 NE10) have won 16 straight meetings against the Hawks (1-4, 1-3 NE10), dating back to the 2005 season. Saint Anselm's last win over Stonehill came on Oct. 2, 2004, as it looks to snap the streak.

Stonehill shut out AIC on Saturday, 25-0, behind a strong defensive effort from fifth-year player Nate Bresson – the NE10 Defensive Player of the Week. Saint Anselm is coming off a 56-7 road loss to New Haven, but is led by sophomore quarterback Drew Willoughby – the league leader in passing yards per game (331.8).

FIELD HOCKEY

Bentley at No. 7 Stonehill: Oct. 15 – 6:00 p.m. (Live StatsVideo)

The Falcons come into Friday, having won three straight games and five of six to sit just behind the No. 7 Skyhawks in the NE10 standings with a 6-2 mark (8-4 overall). A win over Stonehill would give them a tiebreaker and the inside track on hosting an NE10 Playoff game. The Skyhawks (10-3, 8-2), meanwhile are 2-2 in their last four contests following their seven-game win streak in September.

Despite a tough 2-1 loss to No. 4 Assumption this week, Stonehill comes into this weekend averaging 2.5 goals per game and allowing 1.1 per contest which is fourth in the NE10. Raegan Hickey leads the team in goals (8), assists (7) and points (23), while Abigail Campbell has posted a 10-3 record with a 1.04 GAA and an .849 save percentage. Bentley is also averaging 2.5 goals per game and has been led by the duo of Ava Bevilacqua and Katie Thies who have six goals apiece. Madison Clark has started the past six games in net, going 5-1 with a 1.2 GAA and 16 saves.

New Haven at No. 9 Adelphi: Oct. 16 – 1:00 p.m. (Live StatsVideo)

The No. 9 Panthers jumped back into the national rankings on the strength of a four-game win streak and outscoring opponents 26-6 over that span. They're now 5-3 in NE10 play and 7-4 overall, while New Haven enters at 8-5 and 8-1 in the NE10. The Chargers have won four of five, with the only loss a 1-0 decision on the road at Assumption. These teams met in a non-conference game to start the season and Adelphi earned the 2-1 as the Panthers outshot them 12-11 and had more corners (9-5).

Adelphi leads the NE10 in scoring, averaging 3.8 goals per game after scoring 24 goals over its past three games. Kaylee Deleva and Amanda Lee have paced the offense with 20 combined goals and three assists apiece. Amanda Montiel has started all eight games with a 1.87 GAA, 34 saves and a .708 save percentage. The Greyhounds and Golden Knights meet for the first time since they battled for the NE10 Championship back in 2019. Assumption came out on top 2-1 in that contest, but it's been a different situation thus far in 2021 as the team has dropped seven straight contests for a 1-9-1 record overall.
