Stonehill (22-9) cruised in the first round of the NCAA East Regional on Thursday at the Butova Gymnasium with a 3-0 victory over Jefferson, its first NCAA win in program history. Earlier this season, Stonehill lost to Daemen in four sets (17-25, 25-23, 14-25, 16-25) on Sept. 18 in the Roberts Wesleyan Redhawks Invitational. MEN'S BASKETBALL

New Haven at Saint Rose: Dec. 4 - 3:30 p.m. (Live Stats - Video)

Saint Rose, one of the NE10's biggest surprises in the early part of the basketball season, will host New Haven on Saturday in an important Southwest Division matchup at Nolan Gymnasium. The Golden Knights (4-2, 2-1 NE10), who were picked to finish last in the NE10 Coaches' Poll during the preseason, have won two of three conference games to start the season – including wins over perennial division powerhouses Adelphi and Le Moyne.

Freshman standout Shane O'Dell enters the weekend as Saint Rose's leading scorer at 20.3 points per game. He is coming off his first NE10 Rookie of the Week honor this past Monday. New Haven (4-3, 1-2 NE10) will look to get another big road win after beating crosstown rival Southern Connecticut on Wednesday night. Junior Davontrey Thomas is the Chargers' leading scorer (17.3 points) and rebounder (5.7 rebounds) this season.

Stonehill at Saint Anselm: Dec. 5 - 3:30 p.m. (Live Stats - Video)

Stonehill sits in first place of the NE10's Northeast Division entering the weekend, but will get a stiff road test on Sunday when it visits the Stoutenburgh Gymnasium to play reigning league champion Saint Anselm. The Skyhawks (6-2, 2-0 NE10) have won a pair of NE10 games against Saint Michael's and Bentley this season, but are coming off a tight home loss to St. Thomas Aquinas. The Hawks (3-2, 1-2 NE10) look to extend their three-game winning streak.

Under head coach Chris Kraus, Stonehill has the second-best scoring defense in the NE10 – allowing only 61.4 points per game. The Skyhawks will look to slow down the Hawks' top scorer Chris Paul, who is netting 21.6 points per game – the second-highest total among NE10 players – on 55.6-percent shooting. Saint Anselm has won six of the past seven meetings against Stonehill.

Saint Anselm has dropped two straight, including a 72-64 decision to Southern New Hampshire on Nov. 23. The Skyhawks earned their first win of the year, 68-66, over Daemen after falling to Bentley and Saint Michael's to open the year. ICE HOCKEY

Saint Michael's at Southern New Hampshire: Dec. 3 - 7:40 p.m. (Live Stats - Video)

Southern New Hampshire (6-3, 5-0 NE10) looks to remain unbeaten in conference play when it hosts Saint Michael's – the league favorite, according to the NE10 Coaches' Poll - on Friday night. The Penmen already hold victories over four league opponents, which include two wins against Post, and will try to snap a two-game skid after non-conference losses over this past weekend to Western New England and Fitchburg State.

Junior George Thurston is the NE10's leader in points scored (17) and goals scored (11), while senior Jake Cox has a league-high 10 assists on the season to lead SNHU's offensive attack. Saint Michael's (1-2, 1-1 NE10), which is coming off consecutive losses to Assumption and Amherst, looks to get back in the win column by handing the Penmen their first conference loss of the season.

Post at Stonehill: Dec. 4 - 6:00 p.m. (Live Stats - Video)

Stonehill will welcome Post to the Bridgewater Ice Arena on Saturday evening, as the reigning NE10 champion looks to protect its home ice in NE10 play. The Skyhawks (3-5-1, 2-2-1 NE10) will first host Johnson & Wales on Friday night before taking on the Eagles (2-4, 2-2 NE10) on Saturday. Post, in only its second season as an NE10 associate member in ice hockey, has already eclipsed its win total from the 2019-20 campaign and is tied for second-place in the league standings through four contests.

Stonehill junior Brendan Nehmer is the team's top scorer who ranks sixth in the NE10 in goals (4) and seventh in points scored (8), while Post senior goaltender Brandon Brown is third in the league in save percentage (.911) and second in saves (185).
