The Weekend Preview: Jan. 21-23
Every Friday, the NE10 is going to highlight the biggest contests each weekend. It may be a big-time rivalry, matchup between two ranked teams or a battle for playoff-positioning. Fans can follow the action for every game by visiting our schedule page.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

Franklin Pierce at Adelphi: Jan. 22 – 3:30 p.m.­ (Live StatsVideo)

In a battle of second-place teams on Saturday, Franklin Pierce will visit Adelphi in Garden City in a cross-divisional conference matchup. The Ravens (7-4, 4-2 NE10) lost a tight 76-73 game to Southern Connecticut on Wednesday in the program's first contest in nearly one month due to postponements as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Panthers (11-6, 6-4 NE10) are coming off a 76-55 win over Assumption on Wednesday.

This game will feature the NE10's two scoring leaders – Franklin Pierce's Isaiah Moore (24.0 ppg) and Adelphi's Ronnie Silva (20.2). Moore and Silva have combined for five NE10 Player of the Week honors this season. 

Le Moyne at Saint Anselm: Jan. 22 – 3:30 p.m.­ (Live StatsVideo)

Le Moyne and Saint Anselm, NE10 regular season champions in each of the past three seasons, will meet on Saturday afternoon at the Stoutenburgh Gymnasium. The Dolphins (8-6, 4-3 NE10) have won two-straight games, while the Hawks (9-4, 5-3 NE10) are riding a four-game winning streak since January 1.

Saint Anselm's Chris Paul ranks fifth in the NE10 in scoring with 19.3 points per game, while Le Moyne's Christian Davis has a team-high 14.7 points per contest. The Dolphins have won five of their last six meetings with the Hawks.


WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

AIC at Bentley: Jan. 22 – 1:30 p.m. (Live StatsVideo)

Bentley will host AIC on Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center, as the Falcons (8-4, 6-2 NE10) look to continue gaining ground in the Northeast Division standings after winning two of its last three conference matchups. The Yellow Jackets (6-7, 3-5 NE10) have lost four of their last five games, as they seek a big conference road win to get back on track.

The Falcons have one of the best scoring defenses in the NE10, as they are allowing just 57.3 points per game this season. AIC's Destine Perry is her team's leading scorer with 13.2 points per game, while Bentley's Ella Thompson is netting a team-high 13.7 points on average.


Le Moyne at Saint Anselm: Saturday, Jan. 22 – 1:30 p.m.­ (Live StatsVideo)

Le Moyne, one of the hottest teams in the NE10, will travel to take on Saint Anselm on Saturday afternoon in a big conference matchup at the Stoutenburgh Gymnasium. The Dolphins (9-2, 7-1 NE10) are currently tied for first place in the Southwest Division and have won six-straight conference matchups. The Hawks (9-6, 5-3 NE10), who sit in third place of the Northeast Division, have won three of their last four games.

Saint Anselm's Peyton Steinman is the NE10's second-leading scorer with 20.3 points per game, but will be facing Le Moyne's stout defense, which allows only 56.4 points per game – second-best among NE10 teams.


ICE HOCKEY

Saint Michael's will welcome Post for a pair of NE10 contests on Friday night and Saturday afternoon, as the Purple Knights look to get back on track after losing eight of their last nine contests – including their last four conference matchups. The Purple Knights (2-8, 2-4 NE10) will have a chance to gain ground on the Eagles (5-9, 3-4 NE10), who currently sit in fourth place of the league standings.

Post's Kieran Gardner is the team's leading scorer with nine points on four goals and five assists this season, while Saint Michael's Thomas Flack has a team-high eight points on three goals and five assists.


Stonehill at SNHU: Friday, Jan. 21 – 7:40 p.m.­ (Live StatsVideo)

First-place SNHU will play its first game in over a month-and-a-half when Stonehill visits The Ice Den Arena on Friday night. The Penmen (8-3, 7-0 NE10) last played on Dec. 4 – a 4-3 win over Assumption – and Friday night will be the first of a two-game weekend for SNHU (they play Franklin Pierce on Saturday). Stonehill (4-8-1, 2-3-1 NE10) will be playing its first game since Dec. 10.

SNHU ranks first in the NE10 in goals per game (3.82), led by George Thurston, who is tied for first among all conference players with 11 goals this season. Stonehill's Brendan Nehmer has a team-high 15 points this season, with seven goals and eight assists.
