NE10 Weekend Preview: Feb. 18-20
Every Friday, the NE10 is going to highlight the biggest contests each weekend. It may be a big-time rivalry, matchup between two ranked teams or a battle for playoff-positioning. Fans can follow the action for every game by visiting our schedule page.

SWIMMING & DIVING

The NE10 Swimming & Diving Championships got underway on Thursday evening and continue through Sunday evening, when men's and women's champions will be crowned in the Hutchinson Natatorium on the campus of Southern Connecticut.

After the opening evening of competition Bentley led on the men's side by a slight 99-98.5 margin over SCSU while on the women's side the Owls have already accumulated 154 points to 99 for the Falcons. Assumption is in third with 87.

Bentley was picked first in both Coaches' Polls ahead of the meet. The Falcon women have never won an NE10 Title while the men have claimed the last two.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

New Haven at Adelphi: Feb. 19 – 3:30 p.m. (Live StatsVideo)

In the final days of the regular season, both Adelphi and New Haven are vying for at least a share of the Southwest Division title and will have a chance to stake their claim on Saturday. Adelphi (17-8, 11-6 NE10) looks for revenge following a 70-53 loss to New Haven (16-7, 12-6 NE10) on Jan. 17, while New Haven looks to extend its current five-game winning streak.

Ronnie Silva, Adelphi's sharpshooter, ranks second among NE10 players with 20.3 points per game this season, but will be facing the Conference's stingiest defense – as the Chargers are surrendering a league-low 62.7 points per game to opponents. New Haven has four players averaging double-figures in scoring this season.

Bentley at Franklin Pierce: Feb. 20 – 2:00 p.m. (Live StatsVideo)

When No. 17 Bentley visits Franklin Pierce on Sunday, there could be Northeast Division implications, as it relates to the regular season championship. Franklin Pierce (13-8, 10-6) will first host Le Moyne on Friday night; if the Ravens lose, the Falcons would clinch the Northeast Division title. Bentley (18-3, 13-3 NE10) is one win (or one Franklin Pierce loss) away from claiming the outright regular season championship.

Bentley is on a four-game winning streak, while Franklin Pierce has won three of its last four – including a big divisional victory at Saint Anselm on Wednesday night. Isaiah Moore is averaging 22.4 points per game this season for the Ravens, which leads all NE10 players. Jordan Mello-Klein leads Bentley's attack, as he ranks second in the league with 5.9 assists per game.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Stonehill at SNHU: Feb. 19 – 1:30 p.m. (Live StatsVideo)

It will be a Northeast Division showdown on Saturday when Stonehill – the reigning NE10 champion – visits SNHU for an afternoon matchup. The Penmen (18-5, 12-4 NE10) look to hold on to their narrow lead in the divisional standings, while the Skyhawks (12-7, 11-6 NE10) are one of the hottest teams in the league – winning seven of their last eight games.

Stonehill's Kayla Raymond ranks fourth among NE10 players with 18.7 points per game this season and will look to help the Skyhawks keep pace with SNHU's top-ranked offense – which is averaging a league-high 72.9 points per game. Four players are averaging double-figures in points for the Penmen this season.

AIC at Pace: Feb. 19 – 1:30 p.m. (Live StatsVideo)

With one game remaining before a crucial matchup against Le Moyne in the regular-season finale, Pace (19-5, 13-4 NE10) will look to keep stride with the first-place Dolphins in the Southwest Division standings when it hosts AIC on Saturday. The Setters have won five of their last six games, while AIC (9-13, 6-10 NE10) will try to snap a four-game losing skid.

Pace is currently one game back of Le Moyne in the win column, meaning a win on Saturday would allow the Setters the chance to earn the outright regular season title on Tuesday. Lauren Schetter, the NE10's leading scorer, is averaging 20.2 points per game for Pace this season – including 12 games with 20 points or more. Pace is also statistically the NE10's toughest defense, allowing just 56.6 points per contest.

ICE HOCKEY

Saint Michael's at Stonehill: Feb. 18 – 7:00 p.m. (Live Stats | Video)
Saint Michael's at Stonehill: Feb. 18 – 4:30 p.m. (Live Stats | Video)

The Purple Knights look to continue their late season surge when they travel to face off against Stonehill for a pair of contests this weekend. St. Michael's is 6-8 in conference play and if they earn a sweep or secure and win and a tie they will jump over Post in the No. 4 spot in the conference tournament, earning the chance to host a first round game against the Eagles. Stonehill, meanwhile, is looking to use a pair of wins to advance past Franklin Pierce in the standings.

St. Michael's is the third-best offense in the NE10, averaging 3.33 goals per game. Sel Narby leads the team with seven goals and 12 assists for 19 points. The Skyhawks, meanwhile are sixth in the league in scoring at 2.64 goals per game as John Peloso leads the lead with 12 goals and nine assists.

MEN'S LACROSSE

No. 1 Le Moyne vs. No. 2 Wingate: Feb. 20 – 12 p.m. (Live StatsVideo

The Dolphins have a test in their first game of 2022 as they face off against the second ranked Bulldogs who are already 2-0 on the season. Le Moyne was a perfect 15-0 last year on the way to their sixth national championship and return a number of Preseason All-Americans, including Ben McCreary on offense and Nate Arnold on defense.

Wingate opened the year by beating Barton 18-7 and then took down No. 4 Mercyhurst 16-12 last weekend. Last year the Bulldogs went 12-3 and saw their season come to an end in the NCAA Semifinals against Lenoir-Rhyne by an 18-10 margin.
