NE10 Ranks Third Among All Division II Conferences.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference had 13 of 14 member institutions ranked in the final winter standings of the 2021-22 LEARFIELD Directors' Cup – a metric used to award points based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships – as announced by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) on Thursday.

American International led all NE10 institutions and sits ninth in the LEARFIELD standings with 381.00 points, following a fourth-place finish among all Division II institutions after the fall season. The Yellow Jackets had six individuals and two relay teams compete at the NCAA DII Indoor Track & Field Championships in early March, with the men's and women's programs combining for 108 points in the standings.

AIC's Callum Elson provided the highlight for the Yellow Jackets, as he captured the NCAA title in the one-mile event with a time of 4:08.59. His teammate, Clement Paillon, also finished runner-up in the 800 meters with a time of 1:50.46.

Bentley was second among NE10 schools and 63rd overall with a total of 173.00 points. The Falcons appeared in the Elite Eight of the NCAA DII Men's Basketball Championship, with their women's program earning a bid in the East Regional.

As a conference, the NE10 ranked third in Division II in the total number of schools recognized (13) and tied for third in number of schools ranked in the top 100 after the winter season (7).

Southern Connecticut (79), Stonehill (83), New Haven (85), Pace (96) and Franklin Pierce (100) joined AIC and Bentley in the top 100 of the LEARFIELD standings. Rounding-out the list of NE10 institutions was Saint Rose (123), Southern New Hampshire (133), Assumption (161), Saint Anselm (166), Adelphi (192) and Le Moyne (192).

AIC totaled a league-high 155 points in the winter season, while Pace – behind an NCAA Elite Eight appearance from its women's basketball program – recorded the second-highest point total of any NE10 institution this winter with 123 points, leaping into the top 100.
