NE10 Produces 42 All-Americans Among Baseball, Softball and Lacrosse Student-Athletes

Men's Lacrosse with a League-High 24 Players Earning All-America Honors.


MANSFIELD, Mass. - The Northeast-10 Conference tallied 42 spring student-athletes from baseball, softball, men's lacrosse and women's lacrosse to earn All-America honors this spring, as eight different NE10 institutions were represented.

Emma Sullivan of Stonehill women's lacrosse was tabbed the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Midfielder of the Year to highlight the NE10's All-American selections, while eight student-athletes were selected as First Team honorees.

BASEBALL

Four NE10 baseball players earned All-America recognition - including Assumption's Jack Choate - who was named a First Team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and a Second Team All-American by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA). Adelphi's Matt Alifano was a Third Team selection by the D2CCA.

Choate was the NE10's Northeast Division Pitcher of the Year and Alifano was the NE10's Southwest Division Player of the Year.

SOFTBALL

Three NE10 softball players were named All-Americans, led by Adelphi pitcher Claire Fon – the NE10 and East Region Pitcher of the Year. Fon was a Second Team pick by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and Third Team on D2CCA. Lindsey Hibbs, Fon's teammate and fellow pitcher, was also named to the NFCA Second Team, while Southern Connecticut's Jacqueline Dumont was NFCA Third Team and D2CCA Honorable Mention.

Dumont was the NE10 Player of the Year, while all three players were NE10 First Team and All-East Region selections.

MEN'S LACROSSE

Men's lacrosse produced an NE10-high 24 All-Americans this past spring, as announced by the United Stated Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA). Three players were named First Team All-Americans, including Adelphi's Joe Duchnowski – the NE10 Player and North Region Offensive Player of the Year – and Saint Anselm's Ryan Slattery – the NE10 and North Region Defensive Player of the Year.

Le Moyne led all NE10 teams with 10 players earning All-America recognition, while Pace finished with six.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE

NE10 women's lacrosse programs tallied 11 All-Americans this spring, led by Stonehill's Emma Sullivan – who was named IWLCA Midfielder of the Year. She was one of four players to earn First Team status, including her teammate Lydia Rudden, who was tabbed NE10 Attacker of the Year. Le Moyne's Taylor Reich and Pace's Angelina Porcello also earned First Team recognition.

Adelphi, Le Moyne and Stonehill each had three players recognized as IWLCA All-Americans.
