Six NE10 Institutions Finish in Top 100 of LEARFIELD Directors' Cup Standings After 2021-22

AIC Leads NE10 Institutions with Top-20 Finish.


MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference had all 14 of its member institutions ranked in the final standings of the 2021-22 LEARFIELD Directors' Cup – a metric used to award points based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships – as announced by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA). 

American International led all NE10 institutions with a 19th-place finish in the LEARFIELD standings with 492.5 points. The Yellow Jackets earned 52.5 points in men's outdoor track & field this past spring, highlighted by Callum Elson and his NCAA Championship in the 1500m, as well as 34 points in women's outdoor track & field. 

Franklin Pierce was second among NE10 schools and 50th overall with a total of 337.5 points. The Ravens collected 64 points in women's tennis after advancing to the NCAA Round of 16, while baseball added 50 points after nearly capturing a berth in the Super Regionals. 

As a conference, the NE10 tied for third in Division II in the total number of schools recognized (14) and tied for seventh in number of schools ranked in the top 100 (6).

Le Moyne (58), Adelphi (75), Southern New Hampshire (76) and Southern Connecticut (85) joined AIC and Franklin Pierce in the top 100 of the LEARFIELD standings. For a full list of NE10 institutions, please see below. 

Le Moyne totaled a league-high 286.5 points in the spring, while Adelphi (241.0) and Franklin Pierce (220.5) both also earned over 200 points with their spring programs this past season. The Panthers plunged their way into the top 100 after earning 83 points in women's lacrosse and 73 in softball. 

American International's 19th-place finish is tied for fifth-best in NE10 history and is the institution's best-ever finish after a full athletics season.
