Warriors Earn Second NE10 Presidents' Cup in School History
MANSFIELD, Mass. – For the first time in 18 years, Merrimack College has won the Northeast-10 Conference Presidents’ Cup. The conference made the formal announcement honoring the Warriors' athletic success at the league’s annual year-end banquet Monday night.
It is just the second time in school history that Merrimack has won the award as they won the award following the 1999-2000 academic year. The Presidents' Cup is presented annually to signify overall athletic excellence in the NE10. The honor is awarded to the institution that compiles the most cumulative points based on finishes in the regular season standings from all of its programs competing in league championships.

“Congratulations to all the student-athletes, coaches and administrators at Merrimack on winning the NE10 Presidents’ Cup,” said Commissioner Julie Ruppert. “To earn this honor requires tremendous dedication and commitment from the entire campus community, and the entire Merrimack community should share in the celebration of this accomplishment."
Merrimack, which garnered 181.0 total points on the year, was helped by their three NE10 conference titles during the year. Championships in Men's Soccer, Men's Lacrosse, and Baseball helped propel the Warriors to the top spot. The Warriors finished third last year with 171.0 points.
"Winning the Presidents' Cup is hard because of the extraordinary level of competition in the NE10," said Merrimack Director of Athletics Jeremy Gibson. "We're very proud to be bringing this trophy back to our campus.":
Adelphi, who had won the previous two Presidents' Cups, finished second with 172.0 points, while Stonehill finished third with 171.5 points. It was the closest finish the league has had since 2014. Both Merrimack and Le Moyne (168.0) registered their highest point totals in program history, while Bentley, Merrimack, and Saint Anselm each improved upon their final standings by at least two slots in this year's rankings.
