South Easton, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference has announced the members of the Spring 2010 Commissioner's Honor Roll. In total, 2,704 student-athletes representing each of the conference's 16 member institutions are included on this semester's list.

The honor roll recognizes student-athlete at each of the conference's 16 institutions for their success in the classroom. This spring's list is made up of 48-percent of all student-athletes in a Northeast-10 sponsored sport.

Bentley University featured the most student-athletes selected to the Northeast-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll with 315, followed by Stonehill College with 223 student-athletes honored. Adelphi University had 216 athletes selected to round out the top three.

Nine Northeast-10 schools had 50-percent or more of their student-athletes make the Commissioner's Honor Roll. Adelphi led the way as 69-percent of its student-athletes were honored. Bentley was next with 64-percent of its student-athletes recognized, while Saint Michael's College followed with 56-percent. Stonehill followed closely with 55-percent of its student-athletes named with Merrimack College rounding out the top five with 54-percent.

Overall, athletes representing women's soccer made up a majority of this spring's list with 272 athletes honored. The sport of football was next with 258 athletes, while men's soccer had 190 athletes represented.

On the women's side, the sport of softball came in the second most among women's sports after women's soccer, with 172 student-athletes and was followed by the sports of field hockey with 169. The sport of football had the highest student-athlete total for men's sports and was followed by men's soccer and baseball (167).

To be eligible for selection to the Northeast-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded a minimum 3.0 semester grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the spring '10 semester.

With 16 member institutions the Northeast-10 shares the distinction of being the largest Division II conference in the country along with the PSAC and WVIAC. Its 23 championship sports provide athletic opportunities for over 5,500 student-athletes, the largest such program of any Division II conference.
