For Southern New Hampshire, the two-time reigning NE10 champion, it is the seventh-consecutive time being picked first by the league's head coaches.

SNHU received 84 points and the maximum 12 first-place votes to enter the 2023 season as the favorite to win the Northeast Division. The Penmen have won back-to-back NCAA East Region titles and advanced to the NCAA Division II Championship in Cary, N.C. in both 2021 and 2022. Head coach Scott Loiseau led his team to a 46-12 record, including a 21-3 mark in conference play.
