 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Triner, Javadifar Make NE10 History by Hoisting Lombardi Trophy.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Northeast-10 Conference history was made on Sunday night, as Zach Triner and Maral Javadifar helped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers capture the Lombardi Trophy with a 31-9 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV.

Triner, a former Assumption football player, and Javadifar, an alum of the Pace women's basketball program, became the first former NE10 student-athletes to win a Super Bowl title – and they did it at Raymond James Stadium, the home of the Buccaneers.

The long snapper for every Tampa Bay game this season, Triner was perfect on Sunday night – making snaps on one field goal (52 yards), four extra points and four punts (average of 37.5 yards, one inside the 20) to help the special teams efforts of the Buccaneers.

Javadifar, an assistant strength and conditioning coach, made history on the sideline, becoming one of the first female coaches to ever win a Super Bowl. Lori Locust, the assistant defensive line coach for Tampa Bay, joined Javadifar in this impressive feat.

In the Media:

Triner played three seasons (2012-14) at Assumption on the defensive line, accumulating 66 tackles in 25 games. Prior to attending Assumption, Triner played lacrosse for one season at Siena College. He is a native of Marshfield, Mass.

Javadifar, a 2012 Pace graduate, was part of three teams that reached the NCAA East Regionals (2010-12) and the Setters went a remarkable 84-37 (.694) in her four years with the program, including 62-26 (.705) in NE10 play. She is a native of Queens, N.Y.

Congratulations to both Zach and Maral on this incredible accomplishment!
