NE10 Football Earns Seven Selections to All-New England Team

New Haven with League-High Three Selections.


MANSFIELD, Mass. – Seven football players from the Northeast-10 Conference were selected to the DII/DIII All-New England Team on Monday afternoon - tying for a region-best with the DIII Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference and the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference.

All seven players were voted to the NE10 All-Conference First Team last week by the league's head coaches - including the selection of Cedie Dashiell II (DL), the NE10 Defensive Player of the Year. New Haven had a league-high three selections, while Assumption and Bentley each had two. 

Joining Dashiell on the defensive side of the ball was Assumption's Isaiah Huff (DB) and Bentley's Salvatore Lupoli, Jr. (LB), while the NE10 had three players on offense - Assumption's Tom MacDonald (OL) and New Haven's Christopher Ais (RB) and Dev Holmes (WR). New Haven's Terrell Ford (RS) also earned a spot on the team as a kickoff return specialist. 

The team will be honored at the New England Football Writers Captains and Awards Banquet on Thursday, December 8, at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel and Conference Center. Dashiell led all NE10 players with 10.5 sacks this season, while adding 12.5 tackles for a loss and four forced fumbles. Dashiell led the Bentley defense that allowed just 10.5 points per game during the regular season - second-best among all Division II teams. Lupoli led all NE10 players in tackles (102) this season, while Huff was tied for the lead in pass break-ups (15). 

Ais was the NE10's leading rusher, averaging 100.5 yards per game with 5.8 yards per carry and seven touchdowns. Holmes was the NE10's leading receiver with 75.0 yards per game and nine touchdowns this season, while averaging 20.6 yards per reception. MacDonald led Assumption to the second-best rushing attack in the league, which averaged 172.7 yards per game on the ground with 18 touchdowns. 

Ford was the NE10's most dangerous weapon in the return game, as he averaged 35.9 yards per kick return on 16 attempts this season - including two touchdowns, with one covering 100 yards.
