NE10 Player of the Week

Christina Leonard, Assumption
Senior | Forward | Marlborough, Mass. 

Christina Leonard rewrote the Assumption Field Hockey record books, as the senior scored a program record five goals at Franklin Pierce on Wednesday. Her five goals are the most in either Division I or Division II this year.


NE10 Defensive Player of the Week

Joanna Archambault, Saint Anselm
Senior | Back | Andover, Mass.

Senior Joanna Archambault scored the game-winning goal for Saint Anselm against Southern New Hampshire on Wednesday and was a key member of the Hawks defense that allowed just one goal in two games this past week. She helped the Hawks to a 4-0 road shutout of Mercy (N.Y.) on Saturday.


NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week

Kylie Gargiulo, Assumption
Senior | Goalkeeper | Madison, Conn.

Gargiulo picked up career win number 40 and 41 this week, as the Greyhounds went 2-0. She recorded two saves at Franklin Pierce in a 6-1 victory before registering eight in a 3-0 win over Southern Connecticut on Saturday. Gargiulo had 10 total saves and one goal against for a .909 save percentage on the week. 


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Emma Peeters, SNHU
Freshman | Goalkeeper | Wageningen, The Netherlands

Emma Peeters was in goal for both Penmen games last week. She made a total of 18 saves in the games against Saint Anselm and New Haven. In Saturday's win over New Haven, Peeters made 10 saves and also stopped all three Charger attempts in the shootout.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll  

Amanda Lee, Adelphi (So., M - Stony Brook, N.Y.)
Contributed to Adelphi's two wins last week with a goal in each game and an assist against AIC for five points. 

Kylie Peregoy, Adelphi (Jr., D - Medford, N.Y.)
Notched a defensive save against American International and helped Adelphi secure two shutout wins last week. 

Katie Thies, Bentley (Jr., F - Liverpool, N.Y.)
In the Falcons' only action of the week, Thies scored the game's only goal with about a minute left in the third quarter at Pace University. It was her fifth goal and second game-winner of the season.

Mia Trattie, Bentley (So., GK - Cinnaminson, N.J.)
Trottie made three saves in Bentley's 1-0 win at Pace. The shutout was her first of the season and third career. In four appearances this month, she has a 1.00 goals against average.

Victoria Devlin, Mercy (Jr., D - West Islip, N.Y.)
Devlin had a game-high two defensive saves against Saint Anselm on Saturday. 

Maggie Malloy, Saint Anselm (Sr., F - Canton, Mass.)
Senior Maggie Malloy had a hand in all four goals on Saturday against Mercy (N.Y.), assisting on the first goal of the game by junior Maddie Davis and scoring each of the next three to create the final score. Earlier in the week, Malloy scored a goal and an assist at home against Southern New Hampshire on Wednesday before her seven-point outburst on Saturday to give her 10 points on the week. Malloy's seven-point afternoon equals a program record matched prior by only Carly LaCasse '22 (Oct. 12, 2019 vs. Pace) and Hannah Friend '20 (Sept. 17, 2017 at Saint Thomas Aquinas).

Mackenzie McConnell, Saint Anselm (Jr., GK - Concord Township, Maine)
Mackenzie McConnell posted two victories for Saint Anselm this past week, helping Saint Anselm to a Wednesday victory over Southern New Hampshire before producing another win at Mercy (N.Y.) on the road. She made five saves on the week, allowing just one goal to the Penmen.

Jessie Hohenstein, STAC (Sr., GK - Stroudsburg, Pa.)
Jessie Hohenstein allowed only one goal on eight shots faced over two games for STAC. Hohenstein shut out Mercy 3-0, before holding AIC to only one goal, as the Spartans extended their win-streak to three games.

Nicola Van Vurren, STAC (So., D - Pretoria Gauteng, South Africa) 
Nicola Van Vuuren tallied three goals over two games for STAC last week, including a two goal performance against Mercy.

Anne Wiersma, SNHU (Fr., F - Velhoven, Netherlands)
Freshman Anne Wiersma continues a strong season anchoring the Penmen defense. In addition to notching a pair of assists last week against Saint Anselm and New Haven, Wiersma stopped a breakaway opportunity by Kat Trammel of the Chargers in the closing seconds to force overtime Saturday. The Penmen upset New Haven in a shootout, handing the Chargers their first league loss.
