Saint Anselm Claims Three Major Awards as NE10 Announces Field Hockey All-Conference

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Saint Anselm claimed Goalkeeper, Player and Coach of the Year honors, while New Haven's Taylor Geaglone earned Defensive Player of the Year and Saint Thomas Aquinas' Jasmijn Van Drunen was named Rookie of the Year, as the league announed its All-Conference teams on Thursday afternoon.

The Hawks and Assumption both placed a league-best five total players on All-Conference teams, with Saint Anselm leading the way with three First Team selections. Assumption was joined by Adelphi and New Haven, each with two players on the First Team. 

Malloy, one of the Hawks three First Team honorees, was named the NE10 Player of the Year after leading the Hawks' offense and the NE10 with 16 goals during conference play and 19 overall. Saint Anselm scored 57 goals during the regular season, inlcuding non-conference games, and 19 have come off the stick of Malloy who is second in Division II with a one goal per game average, to add to her team's 3.1 goal average. Combined with Goalkeeper of the Year, McConnell, the duo has helped the Hawks remain nationally ranked all season long.  

McConnell garnered recognition as the conference leader in goals against and save percentage with 12 and .844, respectively, during the reagular season. McConnell currently ranks second in Division II for save percentage and goals against average.

Malloy and McConnell are joined by head coach Carolyn King-Robitaille who has been named the NE10 Coach of the Year after leading the Hawks to a first place ranking in the NE10 Tournament and a regular season title. This marks the fourth time that King-Robitaille has earned the honor, with the last time being in 2019 when the Hawks wont he program's first-ever NE10 title. 

Geaglone picked up Defensive Player of the Year honors. From the backline she notched four goals and four assists during the regular season - two of which were game-winners. The fifth year also registered a defensive save during conference play.

Jasmijn Van Drunen, a true freshman from the Netherlands, compiled eight goals and six assists for 22 points over 18 games played this season to earn Rookie of the Year accolades.
