Saint Anselm Ranked in Top 25 of D2SIDA National Preseason Poll.
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Preseason rankings have been released and Saint Anselm is representing the Northeast-10 Conference in the Division II Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA) Men's Basketball Preseason National Poll at No. 23 in the country.
The Hawks won the 2019-20 NE10 Championship and finished the season as the fourth-seeded team in the NCAA East Regional, prior to the COVID-19 shutdown in March. Saint Anselm also ranks second in the D2SIDA East Region Preseason Poll, leading all NE10 programs.
In total, five NE10 teams are ranked in the D2SIDA East Region Poll – with six others receiving votes. Joining Saint Anselm in the top five is Stonehill at No. 4 and Adelphi at No. 5. Filling out the poll is Le Moyne, which is tied at No. 6, and Southern Connecticut at No. 9.
Bentley, Franklin Pierce, New Haven, Pace, Saint Michael's and Southern New Hampshire are all receiving votes in the regional preseason poll. Five of those six teams competed in the NE10 Championship this past March.
In addition to the D2SIDA polls, Saint Anselm and Stonehill are both receiving votes in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) preseason rankings.
Full national preseason rankings and regional preseason rankings are available. Prior to the shutdown in March, the NE10 had three men's basketball teams qualify for the NCAA East Regional.
