NE10 Player of the Week

Zach Laput, Bentley
Junior | Guard | Beacon Falls, Conn.

Laput had an outstanding weekend during the CSI Tournament of Heroes as he averaged 24 points, 9 rebounds, 3.5 assists and only 1 turnover. He shot .667 overall, made two of three three-pointers and was 18 of 21 at the foul line. Laput opened the season with a career-high 27 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists in a 113-70 win over Goldey-Beacom, a game in which he missed only one shot (8-8 FG, 2-2 3's, 9-10 FT). He followed with 21 points and 10 rebounds in a 95-82 win over Wilmington. In the two games, Laput was a +56 in 62:37 on the court.

NE10 Rookie of the Week

Alan Brzezinski, Saint Michael's
Freshman | Guard | Örebro, Sweden

Brzezinski averaged 16.0 points off the bench in 21.5 minutes per game during a 2-0 weekend, shooting 68.8% from the floor and 6-for-8 on three-pointers while pulling 4.0 rebounds. In a 77-70 win over Chestnut Hill on Friday, he totaled 20 points (6x8 FG, 4x5 3PT, 4x4 FT) in 21 minutes with four rebounds. During a 63-59 victory against Caldwell on Saturday, Brzezinski netted 12 points (5x8 FG, 2x3 3PT) in 20 minutes with four rebounds, including three offensive, and a steal.

NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Aristotelis Sotiriou, Adelphi (Sr., F - Thessaloniki, Greece)
Sotiriou averaged 21.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for Adelphi men's basketball. He was instrumental in a narrow victory over Molloy when he shot 7-for-11 from the field and knocked down seven free throws to go along with eight rebounds.

Isiah Gaiter, Assumption (Jr., G - Meriden, Conn.) 
Gaiter began the year with two solid games at the Assumption Tip-off Classic. He poured in 16 points and added seven rebounds and five assists in the Greyhounds' 82-72 win against Caldwell. Isiah hit eight-of-nine free throws to help secure the win. On Saturday against Chestnut Hill, Gaiter went 11-of-13 from the field for 23 points while also pulling down eight rebounds to go with three assists. On the week, the Junior guard averaged 19.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and shot 71.4 from the field.

Brandon Powell, Pace (Sr., G - Middletown, N.Y.)
Averaged 16.0 points per game in a 2-0 week for the Setters at the Conference Challenge. He chipped in 4.0 rebounds per game, four assists and was 7-of-7 from the free throw line. 

Tyler Arbuckle, Saint Anselm (Sr., G - Bristol, Conn.)
Arbuckle scored 22 points in back-to-back games, opening his season with exactly 22.0 points per game. Shooting north of 72% and posting six assists and five rebounds in his team's season-opening victory with Roberts Wesleyan on Friday, he produced 22 more points in a loss to nationally-regarded Daemen with four more rebounds.

Shane O'Dell, Saint Rose (So., F - Schenectady, N.Y.)
O'Dell posted consecutive double-doubles at this weekend's Saint Rose Tip-Off Tournament, beginning with an effort of 21 points, 12 rebounds, and two blocks in Saturday's win over Bloomfield. O'Dell then recorded a 22-point, 10-rebound, 3-block performance on Sunday against Dominican. 

Matt Becht, Southern N.H. (Jr., G - Vienna, Va.)
Becht averaged 15.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.5 assists per contest, while shooting 52.9 percent (9-17) from the field, including 50 percent (6-12) from downtown, and a perfect 6-for-6 from the line, during a 1-1 week for the Penmen. Becht tallied 14 points (3-9 FG, 3-7 3-FG), five rebounds, three steals and two assists in an 80-77 loss to Bridgeport on Saturday, and then netted a game-high 16 points (6-8 FG, 3-5 3-FG, 1-1 FT) and collected three rebounds in Sunday's 62-61 win over Post.
