NE10 Player of the Week

Matt Becht, Southern New Hampshire
Junior | Guard | Vienna, Va.

Becht averaged 21.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steal per game, while shooting 55 percent (11-20) from the field, including 72.7 percent (8-11) from long distance, and 92.9 percent (13-14) from the stripe, during a 1-1 week for the Penmen. Becht went off for 27 points (9-12 FG, 6-7 3-FG, 3-3 FT), to go with three rebounds and an assist in Wednesday's 70-65 victory against Adelphi, before adding 16 points (2-8 FG, 2-4 3-FG, 10-11 FT), three boards, three assists and two steals in a 67-56 defeat at Pace on Saturday.


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Jack Hall, American International
Freshman | Guard | Avon, Conn.

Hall had a big showing in both games for AIC in a 1-1 week. He led AIC's offense with 14 points against New Haven and at Saint Michael's he chipped in nine points as well as five rebounds and three assists. He made a steal with 3.1 seconds left in regulation to seal AIC's 59-58 win on the road at Saint Michael's.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Aristotelis Sotiriou, Adelphi (Sr., F - Thessaloniki, Greece)
Sotiriou was responsible for 16.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest, despite a 0-2 week for Adelphi men's basketball. In a narrow loss to SNHU, he went 7-for-10 from the field with two makes from beyond the arc while nearing a double-double with seven rebounds.

Rapolas Buivydas, Assumption (So., F - Kaunas, Lithuania)
Buivydas was efficient from the field in two games, as he shot 72.7 percent from the field and 80 percent from the charity stripe. In two games, the sophomore forward averaged 10.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.0 assist, as the Greyhounds went 2-0 on the week. 

Zach Laput, Bentley (Jr., G - Beacon Falls, Conn.)
In an 86-62 win over Southern Connecticut State, Laput scored a game-high 21 points, the sixth time in seven games the junior has put up at least 20. The NE10 scoring leader also had four rebounds and two steals, and was 6-of-13 from the field. Included were two three-pointers and he was also 7 of 7 from the line.

Davontrey Thomas, New Haven (Jr., F - Poughkeepsie, N.Y.)
Thomas led New Haven's leading scorers with an average of 15.5 points per game across a 2-0 week for the Chargers with a road win at AIC and a home win over Franklin Pierce. The junior forward finished the week shooting 41.7 percent from the field in both games, connecting on 5-of-12 overall in each. Against the Yellow Jackets, all five of his field goals came from outside the arc while he added a free throw. Against the Ravens, he finished with three buckets from long range and a pair of free throws. One of his 3's against the Ravens came in the final minute of the game as he beat the shot clock on a key possession to ice the victory. He also hauled in eight boards and dished out a pair of passes on the week.

Brandon Powell, Pace (Sr., G - Middletown, N.Y.)
Powell averaged 15.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game in a 1-1 week for Pace. He scored 20 points with five rebounds and three steals in a win against Southern New Hampshire.  

Miles Tention, Saint Anselm (Sr., G - Palo Alto, Calif.)
Averaged 16.5 points per game for Saint Anselm, scoring 18 points at Saint Rose on the road to help the Hawks to a 66-59 win during the week. Added 15 points with three triples against Adelphi at home. Played all 80 minutes while shooting 54.2% from the floor (13-for-24), committing just three turnovers and handing out seven assists. 

Sean James, Southern Conn. St. (So., G - West Hartford, Conn.)
In a 1-1 week that saw the Owls pick up a NE10 win against Pace, James averaged a team-best 13.5 points and 1.5 steals per game while shooting converting on 7-of-13 (53.8%) from three-point range. In the Owls' second-half come back against the Setters in New Haven, James scored 11 of his 14 points down the stretch, converting on 4-of-6 from long range for the game, with three coming in the last 10 minutes of the Owls' victory. Against Bentley, James totaled 13 points with three steals.
