NE10 Player of the Week

Sean James, Southern Connecticut
Sophomore | Guard | West Hartford, Conn.

James closed out the calendar year in style with a pair of 20-point efforts in back-to-back wins against Mercy and AIC. James averaged 25.0 points and 4.0 assists while shooting 17-of-34 from the floor including 14-for-24 from three-point range. Against Mercy, James was 6-for-10 from three-point range on his way to 22 points while also totaling five assists and four rebounds. Against AIC, he torched the Yellow Jackets for 28 points in a 77-63 NE10 conference win at home. James knocked down 8-of-14 from three-point range en route to a career afternoon.


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Max Jusianiec, Saint Rose
Freshman | Guard | Alfred, N.Y.

Jusianiec scored a career-best 26 points in Saturday's overtime setback at Pace. The freshman was nearly unstoppable from downtown, as he connected on 6-of-7 (85.7 percent) of his long-range attempts. He also added 7 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 2 assists in the all-around effort.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Njavan Stewart, Assumption (Jr., G - Newton Upper Falls, Mass.)
Stewart scored a career-high 28 points in an 83-77 win at Post. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Greyhounds. 

Zach Laput, Bentley (Jr., G - Beacon Falls, Conn.)
Bentley returned to action with an 86-75 win over Franklin Pierce and Laput delivered with his ninth 20-point performance in 11 games this season. The junior made 8-of-11 shots, including 2-of-5 from deep, and finished with 20 points, six rebounds, three assists and a +15 rating. Laput leads the NE10 in scoring by more than five points and is also first in free throws made and attempted, and fourth in field goal percentage and free throw accuracy. 

Brandon Kolek, Franklin Pierce (Sr., G - Cumberland, R.I.)
Kolek collected 23 points in the Ravens' lone matchup versus conference leading Bentley on Saturday afternoon, shooting 8-of-12 (66.7%) from the floor through 36 minutes played. Additionally, the Raven senior also raked in a trio of rebounds, and added in a single steal.

Majur Majak, New Haven (Sr., C - Poughkeepsie, N.Y.)
The Chargers' big man averaged a double double in a pair of wins to close out the 2022 calendar year with 11.5 points and 14 rebounds per game against Molloy and Le Moyne. In the first of those games, he finished with 11 points and nine boards against the Lions, while also blocking a season-high eight shots. He followed that up with another double double on 12 points and a season-high 19 rebounds to go along with three blocks in the home win over Le Moyne on New Year's Eve. For the week he finished 10-of-12 shooting, to improve to 75% from the field on the season (45-of-60), while he now has 35 blocks with both numbers leading the NE10 and the blocks top-5 in the nation. 

Brandon Powell, Pace (Sr., G - Middletown, N.Y.)
Averaged 16.5 points per game in wins over Daemen and Saint Rose at home. To close out the calendar year he had 15 points and 8 boards in a 78-76 overtime win over Saint Rose shooting 6-for-14 from the floor. Against Daemen on Dec. 19, he scored 18 points, a game-best, going 4-for-7 from 3 and 6-for-12 overall. He added seven rebounds in the 66-60 win over the Wildcats. For the week, he totaled 5 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Pace has won their last five games. 

Tyler Arbuckle, Saint Anselm (Sr., G - Bristol, Conn.)
Arbuckle scored a game-high 25 points for Saint Anselm in a 69-56 victory over Saint Michael's, pouring home 14 of his team's 33 first-half points on the way to the victory. He also added four assists, four rebounds and a steal while hitting on 50% of his shots (9-for-18). 

Joël Kabimba, Saint Michael's (Jr., F - Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo)
Kabimba totaled 15 points on 6-of-10 shootings with 12 rebounds, four offensive boards and one steal in a 69-56 loss to Saint Anselm, which was receiving national votes, on Saturday. 

Ethan Okwuosa, So. New Hampshire (So., G - North Haven, Conn.)
Okwuosa dropped a career-high 20 points (9-16 FG, 1-2 3-FG, 1-2 FT), and posted six rebounds, two assists and two steals in SNHU's 84-58 victory over Assumption on Saturday in the lone game of the week. Okwuosa scored 10 straight points during a second-half run that took it from a tied game to a 20-point lead for the Penmen.
