NE10 Player of the Week

Matt Leritz, Bentley
Graduate Student | Forward | St. Louis, Mo.

Leritz averaged 22 points, 12 rebounds, two assists and one block as Bentley extended its winning streak to 10 with road wins at Saint Rose and American International. The graduate transfer had a .667 field goal percentage while making 18-of-27 and was 7-of-9 at the line. His week included a Bentley career-high 27 points, including five in OT, and 13 rebounds at Saint Rose and 22 points, on 8-of-10 shooting, and 11 rebounds at AIC.

NE10 Rookie of the Week

Dayshaun Walton, Adelphi
Freshman | Guard | Albany, N.Y.

In a standout week for first year Dayshaun Walton, he nearly missed averaging a double-double with 25.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for Adelphi. Against Pace, he put up a new career-high in scoring, finishing with 32 points behind 10-of-16 shooting from the field, which included five three-pointers. In a win over Saint Rose, he was responsible for 19 points, courtesy of 50 percent shooting while notching his second double-double of the year with 11 boards.

NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Xavier Wilson, Le Moyne (Sr., F - Spring Valley, N.Y.)
Wilson tallied 16 points, including 10 in the first half, seven rebounds, three assists, three blocks and three steals in an 83-72 victory over Saint Michael's on Wednesday.

Davontry Thomas, New Haven (Jr., F - Poughkeepsie, N.Y.)
Thomas averaged 17.5 points while shooting 46.4 percent for the week as the Chargers extended their win streak to four straight and improving to 10-3 on the year and 7-1 in the NE10. The junior opened up the week with a double-double in a non-conference game at Georgian Court with 10 points and 11 boards, with all three of his field goals in the game from beyond the three point arc. He followed that up with a team-best 25 points, shooting 77% (10-of-13) in a road conference win at Saint Anselm. Three of his 10 buckets against the Hawks came from beyond the arc, while he also went 2-of-2 at the free throw line and grabbed six boards.

Frankyn Batista, Pace (Sr., F - Barahona, Dominican Republic)
Helped Pace to two road wins in the NE10 with a double-double at Adelphi in 17 pts., 11 rebounds and a 12-point, 9-rebound performance at Franklin Pierce. Pace has won seven-straight games. This week's games were decided by three points (82-79 win in overtime at Adelphi) and two point (68-66 at Franklin Pierce). Outside of this week, on 12/31, Frankyn had a 20-point, 14-rebound game in another overtime affair, 78-76 win for the Setters.

Owen McGlashan, Saint Anselm (Sr., G - Marlton, N.J.)
Averaged 17 points and eight rebounds per game, scoring a career-high 26 points against New Haven on Saturday, Jan. 7 with seven rebounds. Posted nine rebounds with eight points, two blocks and a steal at home against Assumption during the week, helping the Hawks to an 84-72 victory.

Josh McGettigan, Saint Rose (Jr., F - Southbury, Conn.)
McGettigan averaged 17.5 points per game this week on 60.0 percent shooting, while also adding 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.5 blocks per night. On Saturday against Adelphi, McGettigan was an efficient 9-of-11 from the floor in his 22-point, 8-rebound effort.

Marty Silvera, Southern Conn. St. (So., G - Worcester, Mass.)
Silvera led the Owls to back-to-back NE10 wins while averaging 16 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 6.0 steals per game. Against Franklin Pierce in a 75-66 win, Silvera had 10 points and seven steals. Against Assumption in a 66-64 win, Silvera, playing in front of his hometown crowd in Worcester, scorched the Greyhounds for 22 points, seven rebounds, eight steals and five assists.
