SNHU Claims NE10 Regular Season Title and Top Seed in Men's Basketball Championship

MANSFIELD, Mass. – For the first time since the 2016-17 season, Southern New Hampshire has won the Northeast-10 Conference regular season championship and has claimed the top seed in the upcoming Men's Basketball Championship, which is slated to begin with five first round games on Friday. 

The Penmen (19-7, 16-4 NE10) are one of three teams to earn first-round byes and automatically advance to Sunday's quarterfinals, along with No. 2 Saint Anselm (19-7, 15-5 NE10) and No. 3 Bentley (20-5, 15-5 NE10). SNHU looks to capture its first NE10 Championship title in seven years, while Bentley - the reigning league champion - tries for a repeat performance of 2022.

It is the third regular season title for SNHU in program history and the first under head coach Jack Perri. The Penmen are currently receiving votes in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Top 25 rankings, along with Bentley. SNHU is riding a nine-game winning streak heading into the postseason. 

Saint Anselm won a tiebreak over Bentley for the No. 2 spot and enters the Championship as winners of four of its last five contests. Bentley, which was nationally-ranked all season, is the No. 3 seed and has won three of its last four. The Falcons are also the defending NCAA East Region champions. 

No. 4 New Haven, No. 5 Southern Connecticut, No. 6 Le Moyne, No. 7 Pace and No. 8 Franklin Pierce will all host first round games on Friday. 

Games for all rounds of the NE10 Men's Basketball Championship will be available on NE10 NOW, the Conference's digital streaming platform, via NE10NOW.tv or by downloading the mobile app. Admission for all rounds of the Championship is $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and youth, and free for all NE10 students with a valid ID.
