NE10 Player of the Week

Rusty Stone, AIC
Graduate Student | Attack | Granby, Conn.

Stone opened the 2023 season with a bang, scoring eight goals and gathering four ground balls in AIC's season-opening 17-8 win over St. Thomas Aquinas. It was the most goals scored in a game by any player on opening weekend.

NE10 Defensive Player of the Week

Nick Noel, Le Moyne
Senior | Defense | Fulton, N.Y.

Noel registered three ground balls and held First Team All-American Brady Kearnan (who entered game with 10 goals) to just two goals on eight shots, including zero goals over final 29:14, in fourth-ranked Le Moyne's 10-8 victory over second-ranked Mercy.

NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week

Matt Vavonese, Le Moyne
Senior | Goalkeeper | Syracuse, N.Y.

Vavonese registered 10 saves, including five in the third quarter as the fourth-ranked Dolphins went on a 4-0 run, in a 10-8 victory over second-ranked Mercy on Sunday in his Dolphin debut.

NE10 Rookie of the Week

Stephen Bayer, Adelphi
Freshman | Midfield | Port Jefferson, N.Y.

Stephen Bayer was one of 12 players for #6 Adelphi men's lacrosse to score in a 21-10 offensive outburst against Palm Beach Atlantic. He chipped in a pair of goals on three shots, landing the two he put on cage. 

NE10 Weekly Honor Roll  

Eamon Hall, Adelphi (Jr., A - Massapequa, NY)
Eamon Hall was one of two players to notch a hat trick in #6 Adelphi men's lacrosse season opening win at Palm Beach Atlantic, leading the team with six points. This is the first time since March 27, 2021 that he scored three goals in a game, helping the Panthers defeat the Sailfish, 21-10.

Hayden Gaudette, American International (Fr., G - Bennington, Vt.)
Gaudette had a strong debut for the Yellow Jackets, turning back 11 shots for a .611 save percentage to earn his first collegiate win over St. Thomas Aquinas.

Nathan Alviti, Bentley (So., M - New Fairfield, Conn.)
Alviti had four goals and three assists to lead Bentley to a season opening 19-4 win over Georgian Court. He scored three goals in the first 17-plus minutes and notched three assists in the 2nd quarter alone.

Kyle Caves, Le Moyne (Jr., M - Liverpool, N.Y.)
Caves tallied a career-high five goals, including three straight in a span of 4:24 in the third quarter as the fourth-ranked Dolphins turned a one-goal deficit into a two-goal lead, in a 10-8 victory over second-ranked Mercy on Sunday.

Sebastian Simonson, St. Michael's (So., M - Spruce Grove, Alberta)
Sophomore Sebastian Simonson netted three goals while adding three assists and two ground balls in a season-opening 15-10 win over Post on Friday. He assisted back-to-back first-period goals that put the Purple Knights up 4-3 before tallying at 14:06 of the second to give them the lead for good. Simonson added the final two goals of the stanza to make it 9-6 heading into halftime.

Cam Smith, St. Rose (Sr., A - West Springfield, Mass.)
Smith scored six goals in the Golden Knights season-opener against #2 Mercy on Wednesday.
