Franklin Pierce Highlights NE10 Men's Soccer All-Conference with Four Major Awards

Ravens win Player, Defensive Player, Goalkeeper & Coach of the Year Awards


MANSFIELD, Mass. – Franklin Pierce claimed four of the five major awards and had 12 All-Conference players after an undefeated regular season to highlight the 2022 NE10 Men's Soccer All-Conference awards released on Tuesday afternoon.

The Ravens had a league-best nine players named First-Team All-Conference, with three more named to the Second-Team and one to the Third-Team. Southern Connecticut and Southern New Hampshire tied for second in the NE10 with seven players from each squad selected as All-Conference, while Saint Rose had four players honored. Franklin Pierce's goalkeeper, Kosta Maniatis earned Goalkeeper of the Year for a second time, after earning the honor in 2021. He is joined by head coach Ruben Resendes who earns his second-straight Coach of the Year title. The duo has helped the Ravens own a Division II-best .158 goals against average, and currenlty rank third with a 64-goal differential. 

The returning major winners are accompanied by fellow Ravens Braudilio Rodrigues, the Northeast-10 Player of the Year, and Aitor Aguado the Defensive Player of the Year. 

Maniatis started 14 games and earned 14 wins to lead the conference. The Goalkeeper of the Year allowed just three goals against all season, and totaled 12 shutouts and16 saves during the regular season. Standing in front of him all season was defender Aitor Aguado who anchored the league-best defense. 

Player of the year Braudilio Rodrigues started 17 games and netted a conference-high 15 goals and added 12 assists on the season to lead the NE10 with 42 points. 

Assumption's Gustaf Vilgot Albert was honored as the Rookie of the Year after leading the Greyhounds to the NE10 Playoffs. He had seven goals and five assists, notching two multi-goal games. Vilgot Albert also finished with two game-winning goals as the team totaled seven wins this season.
