NE10 Player of the Week

Jared Howard, Le Moyne
Senior | Malmesbury, South Africa

Howard was victorious at first singles and first doubles in Le Moyne's 7-0 win over Adelphi on Tuesday, March 16. In singles, he beat Gabriel Balestero in straight sets (6-3, 7-6 (7-5)) and he teamed up with his brother, James, to win 6-2 in doubles against Balestero and Valentin Le Goupil-Maier. 

NE10 Rookie of the Week

Salomon Arce Lema, Adelphi
Sophomore (First Year Player) | Tarija, Bolivia

Salomon Arce Lema went 2-1 (1-1 singles) for Adelphi in the first two matches of the season, winning matches at No. 5 singles and No. 2 doubles in a 7-0 win over Saint Michael's. Arce Lema beat Luke Ramsay, 6-0, 6-0, and teamed with Pietro Sole for a 6-1 victory in doubles against the Purple Knights. His only loss came against Le Moyne's Kacper Piekarek at No. 5 singles as part of a 7-0 loss to the Dolphins on March 16.

Valentin Le Goupil-Maier, Adelphi (So. - Oceanside, N.Y.)
Helped propel Adelphi to its first win of 2021; a 7-0 win at Saint Michael's on Saturday...Won a hard-fought 6-4, 6-3 straight-set decision at No. 3 singles...Also earned a comfortable 6-2 victory at top doubles.

Bas van Biezen, Southern New Hampshire (Gr. - Sassenheim, Netherlands)
Bas van Biezen opened the season by going 2-0 in Saturday's 5-2 victory over Bentley. van Biezen pulled out a 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 win at No. 2 against Connor Aulson to clinch the match and also teamed with brother and classmate Willem van Biezen for a 6-2 doubles victory against Aulson and Daniel Weitz.
