Le Moyne, Franklin Pierce Selected to Play in the NCAA DII Men's Tennis Championship

Le Moyne Earns NE10 Automatic Qualifier.


MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference will be represented by two programs in the 2021 NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Championship, as Le Moyne and Franklin Pierce – the league champion and runner-up, respectively – have been selected to participate in the upcoming East Regional, as announced on Tuesday night.

Le Moyne, the 2021 NE10 men's tennis champion, became the league's automatic qualifier in the NCAA Tournament after its 4-1 win on Sunday over Franklin Pierce. The Dolphins enter the East Regional as the No. 3 seed with a 10-0 record, behind Concordia (NY) and Queens (NY). 

Franklin Pierce, the 2021 NE10 men's tennis runner-up, qualified as an at-large team – grabbing hold of the No. 4 and final spot in the East Regional. The Ravens are 7-2 this season, losing only to Southern New Hampshire on April 8 and Le Moyne in the NE10 Championship.

First round matches are set for Saturday, May 8, at the Queens College Athletic Complex in Flushing, N.Y. Le Moyne will play Queens (NY) at 1 p.m., while Franklin Pierce faces top-seeded Concordia (NY) at 5 p.m.  

Preliminary rounds of the NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Championship will be played from May 7-11 at eight different regional sites. The winning team from each site will advance to the finals, which are scheduled from May 18-20 at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Ariz.
