NFCA All-Region Selections
MANSFIELD, Mass. - The Pace Setters highlight the Northeast-10's softball selections to 2024 All-Region teams, leading the conference with four NFCA All-Region selections and three D2CCA placements. All told, the conference earned 19 All-Region selections amongst 14 different student-athletes.
The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) placed six NE10 softball student-athletes on its 13-member All-Region First Team, led by NE10 Pitcher of the Year Gisselle Garcia and NE10 Player of the Year Jessica Perucki (who was selected as a pitcher). Brianna Shea also earned first team honors while Riley Jenkins and Raelle Gorman received second team nods. Regular season NE10 champion Adelphi saw both sides of its battery land on the first team: pitcher Lindsey Hibbs and catcher Angela Lignelli, the NE10 Defensive Player of the Year. Southern New Hampshire outfielder Peyton Feldman, who ranked second across the league in batting, was also named to the first team.
The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) placed three NE10 student-athletes on their 14-member first team: Garcia, Hibbs and Shea.
Garcia and Perucki we among the top-10 pitchers in the country this season, both posting an ERA under 1.15. Garcia ranked fifth across DII in strikeouts. Hibbs, last season's D2CCA National Pitcher of the Year, followed up her 2023 with another sterling season. The righty allowed more than two runs in an apperarance just six times this spring and not at all in 11 outings from April 16th on.
Shea, a high school teammate of Garcia at El Camino in Oceanside, Calif., increased her batting average nearly 70 points from last season. She led Pace in hitting and drove in a team-best 35 runs, second in the NE10.
