CHAMPIONS: Southern Connecticut Women's 4x400 Relay Team Wins Title

BIRMINGHAM, Al. –  Sophomore Crystle Hill, junior Georgette Nixon, graduate student Sarah Hill and junior Shatajah Wattely, pictured, of the Southern Connecticut State women's indoor track and field team won the NCAA National Championship in the women's 4x400 relay at the NCAA Div. II Indoor Track and Field Championship Saturday afternoon at the University of Alabama.

Its the Owls' 79th individual title in program history, fourth for the women's track program and second in the women's indoor track and field progam.

The women's relay team entered today's event sitting at the No. 1 slot and remained on top as they won the event with a time of 3:44.91. The quartet of Owls defeated Northeast-10 rivals Stonehill and New Haven, while topping seven other division II schools as well.

With the win, C. Hill, Nixon, S. Hill and Wattely all earn All-American honors.
