NE10 Women's Outdoor Track & Field Report: Week 4

NE10 Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Roxan Foster, American International
So. | Sprints | Springfield, Mass.

Foster dominated the 100-meter hurdles at the Bryant Invitational, completing the event in 14.16, .80 seconds faster than anyone else in the conference this year, and making her the only PQ in the conference this season.


NE10 Women's Field Athlete of the Week

Rachel Fleischer, Southern Conn.
Junior | Jumps | Derby, Conn.

In the triple jump at the UConn Northeast Invitational, Fleischer finished in fourth place in the triple jump with a personal-best leap of 11.91 meters. It was the sixth longest leap in all of Division II last week and the longest by an NE10 athlete this season.


NE10 Women's Track Rookie of the Week

Johnelle Thomas, American International
Freshman | Sprints | St. Catherine, Jamaica

Thomas blew by the competition in the 400-meter hurdles at the Bryant Invitational, winning in a PQ time of 1:01.04. The rookie's time was 13th-fastest nationally and a full three seconds faster than anyone else has completed the race in the NE10 this season.


NE10 Women's Field Rookie of the Week

Julieth Nwosu, Franklin Pierce
Sophomore | Throws | Brockton, Mass.

On Wednesday, at FPU's Teamsgiving Relays - South, took first in the shot put (12.69m) and third in the discus (33.82m).


NE10 Women's Relay of the Week

Southern Conn. - 4x400 Relay

Southern Connecticut's 4x400 relay took second place with its time of 4:02.01 at the UConn Northeast Invite over the weekend. The quartet of Kyile Neretich, Da'Nae Sherman, Gillian Penna and Rachel Dube also put together the best time in the NE10 this season.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Kanisha Jeantillorme, American Int'l (Gr., Throws - Cambridge, Mass.)
Jeantillorme set a new high-water mark for the NE10 in the javelin at the Bryant Invitational. Her throw of 34.86 meters was .74 meters further than the previous conference best.

Sydney Hurwitz, Bentley (Sr. - Newton, Mass.)
During the Merrimack Track and Field Carnival she finished second of 12 in the 100 meter hurdles (wind-aided 15.09), second of 11 in the long jump (5.53m, 18?1.75?, wind-aided) and was part of the Falcons' 4x100 relay team that posted a clocking of 51.32. Her 100m hurdles time was good for fourth on the NE10 performance list, and the relay time was fifth best.

Bethaney Donnelly, Franklin Pierce (Gr. - Manchester, United Kingdom)
On Tuesday at FPU's Teamsgiving Relays - South, established a new program record in the 10,000 meters, with a run of 38:36.35. The time is currently the best in the East Region.

Stephanie Green, The College of Saint Rose (Sophomore, Throws - Kingston, N.Y.)
Green swept the throwing events on Sunday vs. SUNY-ESF and Albany College of Pharmacy. The sophomore registered marks of 10.66m in the shot, 30.17m in the discus and 45.00m in the hammer throw.

Casey Gannon, Stonehill College (Sr. - Warwick, R.I.)
Gannon competed in the 100-meter and 400-meter hurdles this week at the Merrimack Carnival. The senior posted a career-best time in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.86-seconds. Then she was the runner-up in the 400-meter run clocking in a time of 1:05.50.

Krista Stracqualursi, Stonehill  (Jr. - Tewksbury, Mass.)
Stracqualursi was just one of four Skyhawk top marks this week at the Merrimack Carnival. She earned her fourth first-place finish this season, earning the title in the discus throw with a mark of 38.85m (127-feet, 5-inch). She then competed in the shot put with a distance of 11.33m (37-feet, 2.25-inch), taking second, and the hammer throw, reaching a mark of 36.94m, 2-inch).
