NE10 Men's Outdoor Track & Field Report: Week 5

Week 5 - May 4, 2021

NE10 Men's Track Athlete of the Week

Christ N'Dabian, Southern Conn.
Sophomore | Sprints | Bridgeport, Conn.

N'Dabian finished in second place in the 100-meter dash with a personal-best time of 11.00 and in first place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.93, the second best time in the NE10 this year. N'Dabian and his 4x100-meter relay team also finished in first place with a time of 41.68, the fastest in the NE10 this season and eighth fastest in all of Division II last week, and his 4x400-meter relay team finished in second place with a time of 3:23.82.


NE10 Men's Field Athlete of the Week

Oghenefejiro Onakpoma, Southern Conn.
Senior | Jumps | Naugatuck, Conn.

On Senior Day at the Jack Maloney Tri-Meet, Onakpoma finished in first place in the triple-jump with a leap of 15.26 meters. It was the best mark in the NE10 by .66 meters and sixth best in all of Division II this season.


NE10 Men's Track Rookie of the Week

Osaretin Osagie, Southern Conn.
Freshman | Hurdles | Norwich, Conn.

Osagie finished in second place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.04 and first place in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 55.68, the best by an NE10 athlete this season. Osagie and his 4x400-meter relay team also finished in first place with a time of 3:23.10, second best in the NE10 this season.


NE10 Men's Field Rookie of the Week

Brogan Bonsaint, Franklin Pierce
Freshman | Throws | Somersworth, N.H.

Hit the NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the javelin on Saturday at SNHU, with a throw of 58.92 meters, which was good enough to win the event. The distance ranks 26th in the nation.


NE10 Men's Relay of the Week

Southern Conn. 4x100 Relay

The 4x100-meter relay team of Christ N'Dabian, Tariq Phillips, Jaylynn Cundiff and Nigel Green finished in first place with a time of 41.68, the fastest time by a Southern and NE10 4x100-meter relay team this season and eighth fastest in all of Division II last week.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll  

Evangelos Fradelakis, Adelphi (Gr., Throws - Mount Sinai, N.Y.)
Fradelakis took first in the hammer throw at the Jack Maloney Invitational and broke his own Adelphi record which he set on April 5, with a launch of 61.89m, which also stands as an NCAA Division II provisional mark. This distance moves him up the Division II list, where he sits 11th after a full weekend of action and also ranks first in the NE10 field.

Dante Gonzalez, New Haven (Sr. - Palisades Park, N.J.)
Gonalez finished the high jump with a height of 1.90 meters, tying for the top height on the day in the only event he competed in at the Jack Maloney Invitational hosted by Southern Connecticut.
