Stonehill Women & Southern Connecticut Men Headline NE10 Outdoor Track & Field Coaches' Polls

2021 NE10 Outdoor Track & Field Championship Central

MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Southern Connecticut men's and Stonehill women's track and field programs were picked to repeat in the NE10 Track & Field Coaches' Poll, following a vote of the league's head coaches. This year's NE10 Championships will take place May 6-8 on the campus of American International. The men's competition runs from May 6-7 while the women take place May 7-8. 

The Owls earned 121 points and ten of 11 first place votes to take the top spot as they look to clinch their fourth straight Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship. AIC was second with 111 points, followed by Franklin Pierce with 90 points. New Haven and Adelphi were separated by a single point with 86 and 85 respectively to round out the top five programs. 

On the women's side, Stonehill seeks its fifth straight title in outdoor track & field and garnered eight first place votes for 112 total points. AIC was close behind with 105 points and two first place votes while Adelphi also secured two first place votes to go with its 101 points. Franklin Pierce took fourth in the poll with 86 points while SCSU rounded out the top five with 81 points. 

The men's competition begins on Thursday afternoon with events in the decathlon, as well as the hammer at 4 p.m. and then the 10K at 6 p.m. All events will be streamed on NE10NOW.tv. Women's championship begins on Friday with heptathlon events, a 4 p.m. hammer throw and then the 10K at approximately 6 p.m. The entire schedule of events and heat sheets are available on our NE10 Outdoor Track & Field Championship Page.
