NE10 Women's Track Athlete of the Week
Nyjah Young-Bey, Franklin Pierce
Senior | Montclair, N.J.
Young-Bey claimed first-place victories in both the Women's 400-Meter (58.32) & 200-Meter (25.72) this past weekend at the Middlebury Snowflake Invitational, while also crossing the line as a 2nd-place finisher in the Women's 60-Meter dash (7.89).
NE10 Women's Field Athlete of the Week
Kyria Moore, Adelphi
Graduate Student | Rockville Centre, N.Y.
Kyria Moore put up Adelphi-best numbers in both the weight throw and shotput events, for the second meet in a row, competing at the Spartan Invite. Her launch of 12.47m in the shotput extended her Panther record she set in December to place third overall. Her weight throw performance moves her up to no. 4 overall in NCAA Division II after an attempt landed 19.19m. That stands as a new Adelphi record, qualifies her for NCAAs (mark is set at 17.00m) and ranks her 25th on the all-divisions list.
NE10 Women's Track Rookie of the Week
Kalaya Fitch, New Haven
Freshman | Jackson, N.J.
Fitch earned a pair of top-2 honors at this past weekend's Coast Guard Winter Invitational. Individually, she took second place in the middle distance event 400-meter relay with her time of 1:03.16. She then joined her teammates in the 4x200-meter relay which took home first place honors, setting a facility record which had stood since the 1998.
NE10 Women's Field Rookie of the Week
Gabriel Teel, New Haven
Freshman | Willow Grove, Pa.
Competing in a pair of field events at this weekend's Coast Guard Invitational, Teel finished as the runner-up in both. She began by toping five meters in the long jump for the first time in her collegiate career, hitting a distance of 5.02 meters. In the triple jump she hit another career-best distance with her leap of 11.02 meters which she hit on her second attempt.
NE10 Women's Relay of the Week
4x200 Relay, New Haven
Just barely edging out the runner-up, the Chargers 4x200-meter relay of Savannah Sistrunk, Daphna Gerber, Kalaya Fitch, Deja Harris finished the event in a time of 1:49.52, 17 one-hundredths of a second better than Wheaton College. The relay not only won the event, but also set a new Coast Guard facility record that had been held since 1998.
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Katherine Marsh, Adelphi (Sr. - East Meadow, N.Y.)
Katherine Marsh ran the fastest time in the mile for the NE10 last week at the Spartan Invite, clocking in at 5:07.23. That mark also stands as a personal best for the senior, who also had a hand in the women's DMR that also appears at no. 1 in the league after posting a time of 12:39.95.
Kendyl Vermette, AIC (So. - Ludlow, Mass.)
Vermette ran a 19:18.18 in the 5000-meter run at the Tufts Jumbo Invitational. That time already is the fastest time in the NE10 this season, even before accounting for the flat track conversion; once converted, she leads the conference by almost eight seconds in the event.
Madison Lupino, Assumption (Fr. - Coventry, R.I.)
Lupino picked up her first collegiate win at the Reggie Poyau Memorial Invite, as she won the Weight Throw with a distance of 12.91m.
Lucy Amboult, Bentley (Jr. - Holbrook, Mass.)
Ambroult, with a first-place finish in the long jump during the Reggie Poyau Invitational at Brandeis, cleared 5.52 meters (18'1.5") to win by 0.38 meters (15 inches). It elevated her to second on both this season's Northeast-10 performance list and on Bentley's all-time list. Ambroult was also third in the 60 meters with a finals time of 8.08 seconds.
Tyra Felton, Franklin Pierce (Jr. - Sterling, Mass.)
Junior Tyra Felton had a strong showing at this past weekend's Middlebury Snowflake Invitational, rounding out a 2nd overall finish in the Women's Shotput (11.10m), as well as the Women's Weight Throw (12.10m).
Abigail Seaman, Le Moyne (Sr. - Montclair, N.J.)
She placed 13th in the long jump on Friday at the Spartan Invitational with a program-record distance of 4.91m (16-feet and 1.25-inches), breaking the previous record of 4.86m set on February 11, 2017. She also placed seventh in the triple jump with mark of 10.78m (35-feet, 4.5-inches), the fourth-best distance in the program's history.
Kristen Washington, New Haven (Sr. - New Haven, Conn.)
The Chargers top jumper took home medal honors in both of her events at the Coast Guard Winter Invitational, winning the long jump and triple jump. She began with a distance of 5.28 meters in the long jump before her top performance of the day in the triple jump not only won the event but set a new Coast Guard facility record, with her leap of 11.37-meters coming on her fourth attempt.
Reese Casinelli, Saint Rose (So. - )
Casinelli took the victory for the Saint Rose men in the 400-meter at the Utica Winter Opener on Saturday, with his time of 50.55 seconds listing as the fastest performance in the NE10 this season. Casinelli's third place finishing mark of 22.41 seconds in the 200m also stands as second-best in the conference this season.
Izzy Newbury, Southern Connecticut (Jr. - Moosup, Conn.)
At the I95 Showdown, Izzy Newbury had a time of 8.84 for first place in the 55 Meter Hurdles.
Ava Gravell, Southern New Hampshire (Jr. - Windham, N.H.)
Ava Gravell won the 55m dash on Saturday at the University of Southern Maine. Her time of 7.48 seconds was a new personal best, and just .04 off the program record. Gravell doubled up with a win in the long jump at 5.12m and helped the SNHU 4x200 relay team to a second place finish.
