Week 4 - April 12, 2021

NE10 Player of the Week

Julia Glavin, Bentley
Senior | Attack | Ipswich, Mass.

Glavin led Bentley's attack with 9 total points in two road wins last week. She had an all-around performance in a 11-9 win at Stonehill with three goals, one assist, four ground balls and five draw controls. Glavin then had a game high five points, 3 goals and two assists, in a 10-7 win at No. 16 Assumption on Saturday.


NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week

Kaleigh Wright, Stonehill
Senior | Goalkeeper | Westborough, Mass.

Averaged 16.5 saves per game and posted a .611 save percentage in a pair of tight games against nationally-ranked opponents for the Skyhawks last week. Wright also chipped in three ground balls and a caused turnover for the week, holding #14 Bentley and #21 Saint Anselm to just 1-for-17 on free-position shot attempts for the week. She posted a career-high 20 saves, including 13 in the second half of Wednesday's matchup with No. 14 Bentley, limiting the Falcons to 1-for-13 on free-position shots, including 0-for-7 in the second half of the two-goal setback. Followed that up with 13 stops, including seven in the second half, of Saturday's one goal loss to No. 21 Saint Anselm.


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Caroline Affolter, Bentley
Freshman | Midfield | Newburyport, Mass.

Affolter scored the second most goals for Bentley last week, helping the team to away wins over Stonehill and Assumption. She had a hat trick in Saturday's 10-7 victory at No. 16 Assumption. In the Falcons' 11-9 win at Stonehill earlier in the week she scored two goals, to go along with five draw controls and three caused turnovers.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Christine Ferrara, Adelphi (Sr., A - Rocky Point, N.Y.)
In a 2-0 week for Adelphi women's lacrosse, Ferrara finished with nine points, courtesy of seven goals and two assists. She scored a team-best four goals in the 18-3 win at Saint Rose and added another hat trick in the narrow 11-7 victory at AIC. 

Lauren Jakobs, Assumption (Jr., M - Naples, Me.)
Jakobs finished a 1-1 week with nine points for Assumption. She started the week with five goals and two assists to lift the Hounds to a 15-8 victory at Southern N.H. on Wednesday. She added two goals in a setback to Bentley at home on Saturday. Jakobs recorded an 83.3 shots on goal percentage last week and added three ground balls and four caused turnovers to her stat sheet.

Eliza Bresler, Bentley (Gr., GK - Newton, Mass.)
Bresler picked up two more wins as the 14th ranked Falcons improved to 5-1 on the season with road wins over Stonehill and Assumption. She made 11 saves in Bentley's 11-9 win over the Skyhawks on April 7, and had a key caused turnover and ground ball on Stonehil's final possession with under a minute left to seal the win. Bresler then made 11 saves and had a 61.1 save percentage in Saturday's 10-7 win over No. 16 Assumption. 

Gemma Addonizio, Le Moyne (So., A - Manlius, N.Y.)
She recorded 10 points on four goals and six assists in third-ranked Le Moyne's 2-0 week. She posted six points on two goals and four assists in an 18-6 win over Southern Connecticut State on Wednesday. She registered four points on two goals and two assists in a 14-4 win over 15th-ranked New Haven on Saturday.

Aleya Corretjer, Pace (Jr., M - Thiells, N.Y.)
Corretjer led the Setters' offense during their dominant two victories last week. The junior piled up a team-high nine points off five goals and four assists. She currently leads the NE10 in assists this season (17), while also ranking second in total points (34). 

Jenna Balboni, Saint Anselm (Jr., A/M - Billerica, Mass.)
Balboni led the Hawks goal scorers in each of the Hawks wins this week. She totaled eight points (7-1=8) on seven goals and one assist. In the victory over the Purple Knights on Wednesday, Balboni earned her first hat trick of the 2021 season, posting four goals in the win. She recorded another hat trick in the next game against the Skyhawks, claiming a four-point performance. Throughout the week, she caused three turnovers while also picking up three ground balls.

Grace Young, Saint Anselm (Jr., GK - Merrimack, N.H.)
Young stopped a career-high 14 shots in the hard-fought win over Stonehill on Saturday after posting four saves and yielding only four goals against Saint Michael's on Wednesday. She helped the Hawks to earn two wins and remain undefeated in the 2021 season. Her 60.0 save percentage now ranks in second among NE10 goalkeepers while also her 5.50 goals-against average sits in second in the NE10. So far this year, she has allowed the fewest goals with 22.

Emma Coleman, Saint Michael's (Sr., D - Scarsdale, N.Y.)
Coleman averaged 9.5 ground balls and 4.5 caused turnovers during an 0-2 week. In a 14-4 loss at 21st-ranked Saint Anselm on Wednesday, Coleman posted 13 ground balls - the most by an NE10 player in at least seven years - and three caused turnovers before totaling six ground balls and six caused turnovers in a 14-5 loss against Southern New Hampshire on Saturday. Coleman tied the school record for career caused turnovers on Wednesday before ending the week with 99 and the record all to herself. Only 16 players in NE10 history have reached the century mark.

Erin Gorton, Southern New Hampshire (Jr., M - Kennebunk, Me.)
Gorton registered eight points on three goals and five assists during a 1-1 week for the Penmen. Gorton scored a goal and matched her career high with three assists in a 15-8 loss to No. 16 Assumption on Wednesday and then scored two goals and dished two assists in Saturday's 14-5 win at Saint Michael's.

Shannon Hughes, Stonehill (Sr., M - Franklin Square, N.Y.)
Led the Skyhawks in a pair of games against nationally-ranked teams by scoring seven of their 18 goals for the week, adding four ground balls. Scored five of Stonehill's nine goals in Wednesday's two-goal setback to No. 14 Bentley. Added a pair against No. 21 Saint Anselm on Saturday.
